How I found out
I had seen the show about hoarders called "hoarding: Buried alive" on TV but I never made the connection with my situation. Then one night about a year ago I was trying to clean my place but ended up doing not much and I was getting frustrated. So in this new era where information is at the tip of our fingers, I decided to google "cannot throw things away". I found out information about the hoarding disorder and I started to research on it. I quickly came to the conclusion that I had this mental disorder...

I definitely am a hoarder and i am working on it extensively but my efforts are no match against the clutter.
My mom was a hoarder, and her mom also was.
My father and sister are not.
Your post opened my eyes to seek out professional help because even if i knew the stuff in my home is becoming a problem, i did not see it as a deeper level problem that is hurting my life as a whole.
Thanks for sharing.
Maybe that is the one thing that i had to learn in my encounter with crypto currencies. Why do i collect all those coins while i think of it ? :)
I just ordered the self-help books: "Stuff" and "Buried in Treasures".
Hope i get to give them away to other people when i don't need them anymore right?
ok that's cool information and all.. but my question is if you been to therapy or gotten any psychiatric help from a professional? Did a professional diagnose you?
You know you have a problem when you're paying the deposit on your 2nd (Uhh.. third?) storage unit...
Keep it Clean!
Ouch!
