It’s been a few days since I posted… I think my previous post about homestead happiness for @pennsif’s challenge took more out of me emotionally than I expected!
If I couldn’t find the energy to write a full article, I wanted to at least give a quick update!
My scrap garden took another tragic hit when the celery disintegrated in my hands. I watered the plant and noticed it moving too much so I carefully wiggled the stalks… only to have them pull right out with zero resistance! It seems the base had rotted away so I think I may have overwatered it. Oh well, I’ll try celery again next time I buy a bunch from the grocery store!
I am continuing to read The Weekend Homesteader and will be finishing an article for Chapter One Part 3 soon in order to continue my Page by Page series!
My next Flora & Fauna Feature will focus on mulberries as my mulberry cuttings from @papa-papper are growing wonderfully! I’ll share photos soon!
I am in the process of creating the THIRD #homesteadingchallenge and will be posting the announcement article in approx. one week! Stay tuned in order to participate! Check out the winners of the most recent challenge here!
I haven’t been able to make it to Wild Rose Acres in over two weeks so I am anxious to get there soon… but I’m excited to announce that at the end of August, my family will be hosting a reunion/gathering at the cabin so I will be staying there for OVER A WEEK! Can you imagine how much work I will be able to get done?! Especially since I’ve already coerced a few family members into helping me start the edible garden!
I also plan on withdrawing the SBD this account has accumulated by this family reunion so we can invest in our next projects! We will either purchase fruit trees, perennials, and/or fencing material for the edible garden! Keep upvoting if you wish to continue supporting our Steem powered homestead!
I’m slightly behind on the 7th issue of the WHN but I am determined to get it out on time this Sunday so don’t hesitate to submit your articles for review by posting the link in the comments below!
My next Product Spotlight, the ninth in the series, is going to be verydifferent… instead of a natural/organic (typically beauty) product, I am considering writing a piece about the Visa BitPay card! I am really interested in potentially investing in the card once my account gets to a little higher standing. I have much to learn before that happens though so I will be asking for your advice and information when that article is published.
Thanks for sticking with me this far! Just a few more Steemians until we reach 400 followers! I appreciate the support!

Just wanted to let you know about this.
I'm coming to the state and there will even be a meetup about a half hour away from you. I would love to meet you in person.
Thanks for letting me know @papa-pepper! Unfortunately I am really busy for the rest of the month and I'm even taking a short hiatus from Steemit so I will be unable to make it tomorrow!
I don't know why but I love adding fruit trees to my property! Sounds like y'all are going to get allot accomplished!
Hopefully! I'm looking forward to it!
Wow! You sure have a lot going on! Sounds great, all of it! I look forward to next contest, last one was fun!
Bummer on the celery, but you made it further than I ever had with growing it! :-)
Hit me up on the SteemitHomesteaders channel if you want any info on the Bitpay VISA card. I've had mine for a few weeks and like it a lot.
I have yet to have any luck with celery. Three years in a roll, either too dry or too wet and right when it was good, wild rabbits ate it. I have given up. This past year, I bought a ton of celery around Thanksgiving when it was dirt cheap, chopped and dehydrated it all. I plan on doing it again this year.
You are one busy homesteader! Just heard about your WHN through @farmstead. What a great idea! Here's my submission for your consideration:
