🌺 Hive Community Garden Journal Challenge - June

in #homesteading4 months ago

What's going on in your (indoor) garden, on your balcony, in your homestead or on your farm this month? Let us take a peek and maybe you'll win one of the prizes.

A Lot To Share

I really need to get back to writing. I have so much to share with you guys. The garden is doing pretty good. So far, the annoying pest that was killing my veggies last year and the year before hasn't appeared. The greenhouse looks more like a jungle each day. I had to remove the huge squash plant from there, though, as it started blocking all the light. Outside, all veggies - zucchini, squash, cucamelons, chayote... - are growing slowly, but steady.

I had taken pics of the outside garden last week, but I already need to go out with my camera again, because things have changed so much in only one week time. It's high up on my to-do list, and I hope I can get a post out some time this weekend. According to the weather forecast, temperatures will be back to normal, so I will be able to move without feeling like I'm melting all the time.

Anyway... It's that time of the month again...

Welcome to the Hive Community Garden Journal Challenge, which encourages you to share your monthly (indoor) garden/balcony updates with your the community and create your own garden journal.

A Shoutout To Our Previous Contributors.

As always, a little shoutout to the previous participants. We've had different gardeners joining this challenge in every edition. The participants' base follows the seasons in the different parts of the world.

@sayee, @dzoji, @pastoragus, @enjar, @zekepickleman, @allyson19, @gingbabida, @nikolina, @plantstoplanks, @proto26, @fotostef, @abitcoinskeptic, @livinguktaiwan, @gertu, @viking-ventures, @porters

I'm inviting all of you to post another update in your personal garden journal.

Off course, this challenge is open for everyone who is growing vegetables, herbs, flowers, succulents or any other plants, indoors or outdoors.

If you haven’t joined before, feel free to start now. The more the merrier! There are plenty of people who are enjoying to see what's going on in other people's garden, farm or balcony.

(It's great to see the #gardenjournal tag being used by people throughout the month. Even though I haven't been around much, I try to follow up on all posts that use the tag, even outside of this monthly challenge.)

Don't forget to let us know if you are dealing with things like fungus, caterpillars, aphids, and - even more important - hów you’re dealing with those.

In short, tell us the story of your garden.

🏆 Rewards

As always, all entry posts will receive an upvote from my personal account.

When this post reaches payout, I will select the two entries that I liked most.

I’ll reward the top 2 posts with a 10 Hive prize.

I will also choose 2 random participants who will each receive 2 Hive

Prizes will be given out once I get the winners post up, which will be after this post has reached payout. Make sure you submit your entry before that time.

Grab That Camera

Are you still reading? What are you waiting for? Grab that camera and go make some awesome pics of your (indoor) garden, your balcony or wherever you are growing your plants, herbs, flowers or crops.

Show off your green thumb, or the lack of it, and create another chapter in your very own garden journal for 2020.

I'll can't wait to see your updates!

I look forward to this challenge, even I don't "get there" every month. Thank you. So much going on but it's lovely to pause over a coffee and enjoy gardens from around the world.

My pleasure as always. I'm doing what I can in these circumstances.

I'm late to the party here, but I showed up. 😀

Got my June update down right at the last minute for the Hive Community Garden Journal Challenge
Love this time of year when the abundance starts happening!

Just now on our "Balcony."

A storm blew thru here an hour ago, it brought the real feel down from 102°F / 38°C to about 81° / 27°

Sitting comfortably on our screened deck in the afternoon on a Caturday is a very rare thing this time of the year in Northern FLA. (USA)

And eight out of nine of our indoor cats, all in a 5 foot / 1.5 meter space, grazzin' together is even more of a rare site.

Ot seems like you have some good company.

I want to buy a tree fsrm one day, but I hope my limit will be 3 cats.

I am really glad to hear that you don't have any ants problems this year, they seemed to have given you a hard time in the past! I know that it is too late to enter but I'll just drop my link, in case someone wants to take a look. I hope you don't mind :)

I really need to get back to writing again too. So much going on it is tough but some time wandering in the garden is good for the soul.

I will have to. Post up an update. Cucumbers are going nuts!
