You might be Eating FAKE Ice-Cream.....
This is a big deal because real ice-cream is actually nutritional and beneficial because its made from dairy foods that are creamy and provide the nutritional benefits of milk.
According to the FDA, for a product to be labeled “ice cream,” it must meet the following criteria:
- Ice cream must contain a minimum of 10% milkfat.
- Ice cream must have no more than 100% overrun (overrun is the volume of air whipped in to the ice cream, expressed as a percent of the volume of ice cream. 100% overrun means that they must whip in enough air to double the volume of the ice cream base).
The FDA also created several labels for ice cream products with less fat: reduced-fat ice cream has at least 25% less total milkfat than typical ice cream, and light ice cream has at least 50% less. Low-fat ice cream can only have 3g of fat per serving. Nonfat ice cream must have less than .05g.
So, The products various companies are selling and calling “ice-cream” are actually frozen desserts – these desserts are made from Vegetable Fats instead of cream and milk.
Considering this, the frozen desserts made of vegetable fats have no nutritional value. This discovery by PFA (Pakistan Food authority) also shared the fact that 44% children in Pakistan have nutritional deficiency. And in another survey 24% Fake Ice-Creams are being sold worldwide by different companies.
These companies apparently don’t care about basic human rights and ethics.For years, these companies have been popular and have been fooling the public who thought they were actually buying ice-cream. This is not really surprising because,this is not the first time companies mislead the public to earn a profit.
Some of the names of these companies are WALLS, OMORE, GOURMET, Names source given by PFA.
So, Next time if your children asks you for the Ice-Cream choose wisely the REAL ICE-CREAM for them.

On the other hand, looking at the nutrition values it seems to be the real one so i'm eating really healthy haha. Now I will have another excuse to have that extra spoon lol.

@misiek Haha, :) You really did that, but It's cool.. we should be aware of what we are consuming, I'm a father of 3 kids & Ice-Cream is their favorite... once I knew about it, I thought to share it with others so that they also avoid FAKE Ice-Creams... Especially in Sub-Continent asian countries & in african countries they're selling FAKE Ice-Cream packs in HUGE quantities and making tons of profits... Once the people have better awareness they will stop consuming it & force them to provide only REAL ingredient products instead of vegetable FATS..!

It is best to prepare ourselves homemade ice cream with natural ingredients. There are so many recipes with only 2-3 ingredients that we can try.
@allesia yes, but It's not possible for everyone to miss commercially made ice-cream :) so if we just demand or eat only original ice-cream then the sales of Fake ice-creams will become very less & due to less profitability.. fake ice-creams will be demolished in the market.
