I've had a play around with the neat service "If this, then that" for a while. It allows you to string together different trigger actions with hundreds of different services and devices to create awesome automations.

There are no specific trigger actions for steemit built into ifttt , however thanks to the rss feeds available on @xeroc's awesome streemian.com we can macgyver up all sorts of things!

Initially I set off trying to make something to allow people to automatically post their content to the /r/steemit subreddit , but I had some extra ideas for useful tools along the way.

If you really wanted to you could use this service to automate your home via steemit!

The possibilities are endless, I just started with some basic things I think a lot of people may find useful.

For example, see the maker channel - you can interact with anything that can send or receive a web request.

I'm happy to help anybody with setup or configuration, but I've also tried to make everything as simple as possible so hopefully that won't be needed :)

I use it in a myriad of ways for myself, clients and of course Steemit. Today I set up Diigo for bookmarking posts. It is another way to generate SEO for the platform.

I got IFTTT to work with auto posting my blog submissions to the steemit subreddit...and I'm afraid to touch it anymore. It's like this @ausbitbank... I have just enough knowledge to fuck it all up. LOL
I may try the auto link to twitter and FB when I'm feeling braver but dad always said, "if it ain't broke don't fix it!" :)

Okay! I think I did it correctly and connected my posts to FB and Twitter now.
I do have a question that perhaps you can walk me through. There are a few friends who haven't been posting regularly, or I'm simply missing them on my feed. How do I add them to my email list so I get notified when they post?
