With the internet it will make it easier to promote steemit and tourism

The Directorate of Facilities and Infrastructure Improvement of the Ministry of Health PDTT is working with PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara through the Pilot Project of VSAT Ubiqu (CSR) internet network in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The cooperation was carried out in the Waerebo Ecotourism area which is at an altitude of 12 thousand masl.

The area is an area blankspot so that people are very difficult to communicate remotely and cannot access the internet to add information in the outside world. Initially, to get a signal, the surrounding community had to walk down the mountain for two hours and take an overland journey of about one hour using a motorbike or car.

Under these conditions, the Directorate of Facilities and Infrastructure Improvement Team together with PT PSN and the local Communication and Information Agency, recently went directly to the location through heavy and tiring terrain to be able to arrive at the location. The team installed the VSAT internet network in the Waerebo Ecotourism Area. The work is done with great difficulty and very careful to avoid unwanted risks.

After a while, the VSAT internet network was successfully installed. The Directorate of Facilities and Infrastructure Improvement Team, PT PSN, and the Ministry of Communication and Informatics were pleased that the public could finally enjoy internet access.

With the internet it is expected that the Waerebo ecotourism area can increase tourism potential and superior products of disadvantaged areas and can be more optimal in promoting it. So that it will improve the quality of life of the surrounding community.

The Director of Facilities and Infrastructure Improvement, Agus Kuncoro, when questioned stated that he was satisfied and proud of the accessibility through the information and telecommunication sector in the underdeveloped areas. With the existence of internet networks, he continued, it will facilitate in promoting tourism and other excellent products there.

This is in line with the efforts of the Director General of Disadvantaged Regions Samsul Widodo who is currently very focused on developing e-commerce in disadvantaged areas to accelerate the development of disadvantaged regions. For e-commerce purposes requires an internet network. His side responded by preparing facilities and infrastructure through CSR with PT PSN.

Hopefully the facilities and infrastructure that have been built can be maintained properly. Local governments can also play an active role in providing counseling and assistance to the community.

Thanks
