Well, probably not a 1938 Packard, but all modern cars, with few exceptions. Philip has one for the 1973 Mercedes 280 SE, I have one for my 1990 Range Rover.

He drove it home, the underhood fire was later. A driveable one is 5 to 10 grand, and a nice one is twice that.
And with some engine work it should run for many more years right?
Just the top of the engine, mainly the injectors and the fuel rail.
