I haven't watched the video yet, but IMHO about the only vestige of actual democracy left in the US is trial by jury and jury nullification - although corrupt courts and judges render that increasingly useless. Voting and elections certainly aren't democracy under conditions of heavy indoctrination and propaganda assaults and psyops that prevent the electorate from having information necessary to make rational choices.
Worse, I have seen that Democracy cannot avoid imposing minority rule on a majority. It is never an absolute majority of a people that vote for any candidate or policy that passes with a supposed majority vote. Most people don't vote, because about half the population are minors or otherwise disenfranchised and aren't allowed to vote, a lot of people are so displeased with the issues or candidates they won't vote for any of them, and other reasons.
In Oregon all voting is by mail. It's absolutely liable to election fraud. There is no mechanism that can prevent mail in votes from being changed or discounted. Then there's the fact that even if an actual majority could actually vote and pass some policy into law, or select a candidate they prefer, the minority are saddled with involuntary policies or representation they do not approve to represent them, and when it's always a majority of the people that are so impacted, that's even worse. Democracy in this sense is tyrannical. We see the fruits of tyranny in every government in the West today.
Now, maybe I'll find even more things to revile about democracy when I watch the video, but as it stands I don't feel that the collapse of what is called democracy in America today is particularly a big loss, since it always is actually minority rule, involuntary taxation, and repressive government and policies people do not voluntarily accept. Being forced to have a testicle removed isn't somehow a voluntary acceptance of such a policy just because people are allowed to vote on whether the left or the right testicle is removed. Such 'democracy' isn't men approving being castrated, but that's the claim we suffer today.
