Looking at this young lady who was determined to follow her dreams of becoming a motivational speaker and a writer could have had her dreams shattered by such derogatory remarks from her teacher. You will agree with me that the teacher to the best of his knowledge thought he was doing her a lot of good by suggesting a profession he thought would suit her results or performance in school.
However, this young lady as determined as ever,was not going to allow the perception of one man or a group of people derail her from pursuing what she believed in. With a made up mind and a determined heart, she, in spite of all the hardships and heartbreaking remarks went ahead to pursue and today I stand to gladly inform you that, Lisa Nichols is a globally recognized motivational speaker and a renowned author of so many books including the best seller "No Matter What". She is also an entrepreneur and CEO of the company-Motivating the Masses.
From the story of such a go getter like Lisa Nichols, we realize that our stories are no different from hers. Many a times, we receive heart breaking and heart piercing remarks from not only mere friends but very good friends as such that leave us totally broken. Sometimes, these comments leave us so shattered that we never want to venture at such feats anymore. I have been there before, not only once, twice, thrice but quite a couple of times.
In such trying moments, what do we do? What do we say? Let's look at what Lisa has to say about this

Woow! I believe that's an absolute answer to the aforementioned question.We understand that ships dont sink because of the water that surrounds them but rather as a result of the water that gets into them. If we play the "dead goat" syndrome to derogatory comments from dream killers and vision busters, I am very optimistic that we will be able to pursue and achieve that goal or dream. That is not to say we should not listen to advice or constructive criticisms. A wise man once told me
When you are being spoken to, you can decide to hear or listen. The choice is yours
Don't allow dream killers and morale stealers to dim your light. The good Book says in Matthew 5:16 that
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Don't let them block your shine, keep on shining and when they complain that your light is too bright, when they keep on pestering you about how bright your light is and how it is affecting them. Let us see what Mrs Lisa Nichols has to tell them
Look at them and tell them, well I not dimming my light, I am just gonna have to hand you some shades
