My name is Alicia (ah-lee-see-ah) Meneses Maples and this post represents the beginning of my journey on Hive. 👋
I am a strong, loving, multi-purpose-driven, entrepreneurial, faith-grounded woman. I live with intention, and do my best to align myself with the purposes God has for me.
I'll tell you a bit about myself, saving the scariest bit for the end. 😬

🎶 - Singing karaoke with my friends is tons of fun and my fav is singing on the worship team at my church. It fills my heart.
💞 - I am married to a handsome, wonderful man who is a whole foot taller than I am!
🤠 - I live in Texas (a big state).
💎 - I enjoy wearing BIG statement-piece type jewelry; I've been that way since I was a kid. I also collect designer costume jewelry from the 30s, 40s and 50s.
🐶 - I am a fur-baby mama to 3 dogs which is a big, but fulfilling job.

Professionally? I am an entrepreneur, LOVE entrepreneurs and I help entrepreneurs overcome their fears of selling to build profitable businesses.
I've had an award-winning blog, been featured in the media and lots of podcasts. I've also had several big name clients like Disney and an Olympic Gold Medal winning NBA star. But I have to be honest with you...
My favorite people to work with are small business owners who are AMAZING at what they do, but need help amplifying their profitability.
I get to fulfill my purpose with entrepreneurs several different ways.

I almost didn't do it. I didn't want to do it. But I knew I was supposed to do it.
It was the riskiest, most vulnerable thing I have ever done.

Welcome aboard! Since you are a public figure, I advise sharing something about HIVE on one of your mainstream social media accounts so it's clear this is legitimate. Drop a link in a reply to this comment, too. Then, take some time and explore here! I'll delegate some resource credits to help you comment and post more while you get started. The best way to build a good audience is to be a good audience for others, so create conversations! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I don't have all the answers, but I am glad to help if I can.
Be sure to write down your keys and keep them somewhere safe. Click here for another writer's overview of which keys do what. Beware of scammers who promise quick riches or mystery airdrops, and don't enter your keys anywhere carelessly. The HIVE community tends to be welcoming, but rewards may drop off after your introduction. Persevere! The path to success is not always fast and easy. Just be avoid plagiarism and spam in your posts, and you'll make progress in due time.

I've received advice about plagiarism several times now. Sounds like that is a thing on HIVE? I will never do it. It's either something I write or I will give credit.

Unfortunately, it's a common sneaky tactic by greedy bloggers wanting a quick crypto boost. We see a lot of people claiming credit for pictures copied from Flickr or blog posts written by versions strangers copied and pasted as if it were original work, especially when crypto is on the rise like it is now.
Re-posting your own blog content here as well is a more contentious topic. If you have verified the other account is you, and you are sharing your own work, you are probably OK, but some may still see that as a bit lazy. Some such posters see the blockchain as insurance against server shenanigans. Some readers see it as lazy double-dipping.
If your aim is to drive traffic to your main blog and website, dropping a link with some kind of special introduction and a choice excerpt might work. HIVE tends to be more about on-chain content, though, and external links are usually used more for supporting references.
As always online, your mileage may vary.

This is awesome advice! At some point, I might have people check out some of the things I offer on my website or my courses, but I'm most interested in building relationships here. Although I would like people to watch and share my TEDx talk as the ripple effect from it will change so many lives. But aside from that, I'm glad to know that my desire to connect here aligns with what HIVE is all about.

I have no idea how you pulled through that without breaking down, your points hit like a hurricane, or perhaps a consistent 1 mph wind 😉. You are an inspiring woman 💚!
I have a borderline glass child, things are improving now with her sibling (severe colic and food allergies). I constantly wonder what life long structures I am instilling in my children... Listening along gave me some insight into my daughter's life.
I have a deep admiration for people who share vulnerable things in the hopes of helping others. You rock!

I'm so glad my TEDx talk was meaningful for you. It was absolutely terrifying. But even though it was so long ago, I still receive emails and DMs from people who have found it and they have shared their stories of how it has impacted them.
I'm so glad your other child is getting better! That has to be a huge relief. And your "glass child," just you knowing what she might be feeling, seeing it and acknowledging it, that will make the biggest difference of all.
