Hello all Steemers!:)
I love the idea of STEEM! I am so excited, happy, thrilled and buzzing to be a part of this amazing community.
My name is Alla and I am 28 years old. I came to England from Latvia alone when I was 14 years old without speaking much English. It was a tough childhood, but I wouldn't change a thing, because it made me who I am now. Right now I live in London with my sister and our cute dog Milo.
A Youtuber for 3 years….
I am part time Youtuber and part time chef… well actually I have about 4 jobs… but that is another story. I love food and cooking is my passion, so 3 years ago I decided to quit my full time job as a head hunter in the Oil and Gas industry after graduating from the London School of Economics and start a Youtube channel.
Today, I have a following of 155,000 fans on my Facebook page and 45,000 on my Youtube channel and I think this could really change the social aspect and the value I could add to Steemit. I specialise in Russian, Latvian and Eastern European Food from Soviet Union times, things that my babushka (grandmother) taught me.
Building a following on youtube…
I want to contribute my knowledge, insights and all the tips and tricks about Youtube, Facebook and Social Media as well as occasional recipes of my favourite desserts and childhood food.
I am self-taught Youtuber....
nobody ever explained to me how and what should be done. All my photography, editing, filming and planning of each recipe, marketing and growing my social media presence is done only by me. I worked so hard for 3 years and I am still struggling.
I know Steem will be so much more exclusive than Youtube for girls and guys like me who want to spread their ideas and share their knowledge whether it’s about food, fashion, beauty, music, travel etc. After reading several articles written by @Cryptoctopus and @rok-sivante's I strongly believe that my participation will increase the amount of users on Steem, which will ultimately bring in more money for all users!
My friend @wingz told me about this platform and thought I could do well here. At first I didn't believe how it’s possible to make money from things you are doing for free everywhere else? I feel like this is an amazing opportunity to join at this early stage and I hope I could make a massive difference and inspire many readers and viewers along the way. I can't wait to spread the word to my friends and fellow bloggers.
I am very much looking forward to contributing to this wonderful community and connecting with such brilliant minds and talents here.

I would say steem has overtaken YouTube as all youtubers are joining steem and leaving YouTube
Youtube has disappointed a lot of people who work day and night to get somewhere, so Im excited about Steemit!!
You can make money from Google Adsense program and monetize your Youtube videos if you know how to.
I do that, lol it makes me 100 dollars a month..
introduce yourself post with food, a puppy, and girls make, 21,000. Writing a post about U.S. air-strikes that kills 100's, or something about global warming to inform the public, make 1-2 dollars. Writing a cheesy comment, make, .20-.50 cents. Trying to not get a condescending attitude towards what posts make the most money...priceless
you have an account with 45k subs you need to learn some tricks... cause youtube is not easy if it was that easy everyone would do it... you also need to invest meaning advertising... there are bunch of people who advertise on buses on street sign and etc etc....
Just being on steemit has already boosted my creativity and production. A community that appreciates my content and ask for more of it. It's not just friends and family showing support..it's a supportive community looking for quality material to watch and share.
Yeah I agree, I am really speechless, I didn't expect such an amazing community, just all the love and support and people who will actually appreciate your work. Love it here so much already!

With youtube having alot of issues i believe they should move their crowd base over here. much more transparent
I dont think so, steemit is not killer for youtube but I agree 2-3 years next steemit will more populer than youtube
Sure steemit will popular as well as some crypto currency will start like steemit.
youtube is owned buy the richest company in the world that means GOOGLE.... now youtube is as powerfull as google search... nowdays people go watch youtube videos instead of tv shows.... youtube is here to stay! and its here to dominate.... mean while steemit is a blogging site + crypto currency those dont match....

I don't have a clue about creating video on YouTube and still learning about Facebook. I am not good with all these technologies in my fifties but you sure inspire me to learn and create. Welcome and hopefully Steemit will launch you further.

Tanks. Yess it is always nice with some new inspiration. We actualy have a booring kind of food in Norway. So i realy like to make food from around the world. We regular use almost only Salt and pepper as spice ;p

Your message that your struggles had value because they shaped who you have become needs to be shared. Kids can learn a lot from you!

Welcome! One nice thing about steemit is that you don't have to pay 50% of your income to google and them get taxed by your bank for receiving your adsense money for creating content, it's all in crypto currency :)

The cake in the 3rd picture from the bottom, what kind of cake is that and how is it called?
Its one the most amazing cakes out there, called Napoleon cake. It consists of 12 sponge flakey layers with vanilla custard cream :) Here is my tutorial, enjoy ;)
