Hi!
So I am sixteen days old on Steemit but I have not really done a proper introduction of myself. This is a story I have always wanted to share.
Interestingly in the past ten days I have been in the #dolphinschool. Its been an amazing journey as I have learned a lot about Steemit, blogging and writing. You might want to check out @dolphinschool and @markrmorrisjr.
Introductions are coated with boring stuffs which are never the less necessary so I decided to add another layer. I would not expect you to laugh or cry, yeah you can empathize. I would love that but most importantly learn!

I am @donjyde though beyond here I could also be addressed as AFOLAGBADE OLAJIDE. Its a native name you know. I am from Africa, the western part of it. Nigeria!
One more thing its important you know I love to write with a great zeal for poetry plus I so much love what Jesus did on the cross and how he resurrected on the third day that I might have life. I believe!
So that's it for the introduction.
C'mon wont you ask me about the story in the title?
Yeah it was a true one.
I was ten years old and in my final year in elementary school. As usual Mum dropped me off at school with smiles and hugs. I took my lunch box and proceeded to class just before the bell rang for assembly. It was towards the end of the school session and everyday we bragged to our juniors how we were leaving them behind to go to a secondary school. I always wanted to be an Engineer. It was a dream.
Am I boring? FORGIVE ME!
Third period came and my school proprietress called for an emergency meeting of all teachers. So suddenly we became free. That was an incentive to play. And yes play we did.
Here comes the sad part!
I asked a friend to help me with his pencil, I needed to quickly work on something in my math book so I could be free to play with others.
He was obviously in the throes of his playfulness and could not come over. I practically had to scream him into hearing me call him then he...
He threw it!
I was no David De Gea and it did hit my left eye.
That was the beginning of a long medical journey that could have ruined my Engineering dream but it did not.
I learnt forgiveness a lot through this period as the family of the boy refused to take on responsibility especially for my growing medical needs.
I later came to forgive them when I found the sweetness of God's love and how unconditional it is. I feel privileged.
That's my story.

Hello, welcome to Steemit, I congratulate you for wanting to do things right, many people only think about monetization and do not give the value that this community deserves, the quality content like yours will always be valued by many or by some, but with Perseverance and dedication will surely reach their goals, I am reading here from Colombia, so we could say that your presentation is already spreading all over the world hahaha ... I have some doubts, you speak English natively, use a translator, Is it bilingual? ? If so, what is the official language in your country? Here in Latin America we have been sold a very wrong image of Africa, we are shown to Africa as if they were all poor and slaves of a tyrant leader, it would be fun to clear up those doubts, maybe you have a similar image of us, once a Hindu told me I thought that all of South America was like the Amazon hahaha ... Hi @stripnus. Thanks for your kind words, its well and truly appreciated. Nigeria is actually a multi-lingual and multi-cultural nation with diverse ethnicity, and religious beliefs. My native language is called, Yoruba. English is our official and unifying language as a nation.
Yes, Africa has its struggles but not as painted by the international community. We have immense intellectual capital in our human resources using my country as a case study and its not a safe haven for a tyrant leader. We duly elect our leaders and although one of our Achilles this season has been our choice of leaders.
Gradually we would get there, I believe.
