Hi Steemians,
It's me @ilyastarar here to introduce my two year old initiative aimed at educating poor children. It was founded by me on 22 April 2016 and has since benefited more than a dozen children in my country. Educate One Child was initially run as a Facebook page but since Facebook permanently disabled my account, and all the pages associated with it this new year, I wanted to bring the initiative to Steemit because here it cannot be removed.

Preface
I had a tough time getting education due to difficult circumstances and an uncertainty surrounding my future at a very young age. However, I got education and it changed my life forever. Now, having seen how difficult it was for me to get educated, I have a special concern for those poor children who are not able to go to school. That's my motivation to do something about it.
Most of us will agree that poverty and illiteracy are our biggest enemies. But what can we do about it? This is the real question.

Beginning of 'Educate One Child'
When I found a long-term answer to the question above, I started a campaign called Educate One Child. Following the idea of Educate One Child, two of my close people and I are sponsoring 7 children's education in total for two years now. Sponsorship includes tuition fees, books, bags, uniform, shoes, stationary and admission charges.
We're not the only three doing this. A friend is sponsoring 2 children. There are others too who are sponsoring a child each. And then there are a countless number of people and organizations working towards a better world by educating needy and poor children.
The Aim
The aim is to contribute an educated person to this society; a child otherwise destined to be illiterate. We believe that the millions of children who are out of school can be sent to school if each one of us takes responsibility for at least one child.!
I, and I am sure most of us, would love to see a future world where no one is illiterate or uneducated. Likewise, it would be highly unfortunate if these out of school children remain uneducated and become fathers, husbands, voters and what not.
- Can you find just one kid who can be sent to school?
- Can't you afford educational expenses of just one kid?
- Can you imagine how big an impact it will create if you care to do it right now?
The Impact
Though there are many positive results of this effort if done, here are just a few of the outcomes and benefits.
- A poor child educated by you will eventually come out of poverty.
- His/her family will benefit from the turnaround as well.
- There will be one less illiterate person in our society.
- The child will forever be a source of good reward for you.
- Seeing that child as a successful person in future will give you the ultimate satisfaction.
Please help the @educateonechild initiative. Do not send any donations as they are not needed. Just find a kid you can sponsor and educate that child. If you wish to support the initiative, it would be kind of you to upvote this post and resteem it.

Wonderful initiative. Each person needs as much education as they can get. Illiteracy, in my view, allows for others to gain control of a person. Literacy provides each person to open doors that otherwise would be closed to them. Education strengthens society.

I am very salute with you mr @r2cornell, you are a good person willing to help those in need, the more sophisticated world progressed but there are still childrens who do not go to school because of economy and distance to school in the country. This is a very noble act. The teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW that must be continued and done by his ummah. Not only help and eradicate poverty, but also become a sadaqah jariah for those who do it as you have mentioned above. May Allah reward your good and the good of those who do this noble thing.

Hi Ilyas, a mathematics friend of mine is planning to post over 200 hours of highschool mathematics lessons in Turkish @studiee, if we can find some translators you can use the content.
Education is the only panacea to sincere ignoramus, but in a situation where children does not have access to good education. their ignorance will be exploited and they won't be able to identify their right.
Your initiative is a good one and the first thing i do was to resteem it.
