You're very welcome! One way you also can tell if someone is a spammer is if you look at their profile and click on their "comments" tab you can see all the comments they've left people recently. Ichiel, for example has left nearly identical comments to everyone with whom they've recently interacted.
I recommend checking out the Minnow Support Project @minnowsupport and @helpie. Both so awesome at helping new steemians. :)
