RE: Introducing Myself

Thank you for the welcome! I'd be interested in learning the mark-up editing if you can share any tips... I was unsure what size image I should be posting, so all of my first posts have been downsized quite a bit. Thanks for commenting and the resteem! Followed... I look forward to seeing your work.

Sort:

although i must add, that i've seem some peeps with a link to a larger image that overlays the current page and allows for a one-click closing of the image without closing the original page your were at.

The way i've shown here clicking the image link loads a new page with contains image. So in order to return to the original page you'd have to hit the Back arrow on your browser... FYI

Ah, did not know that. Does the image have to hosted somewhere else, or can it still be loaded directly into the post?

directly into the post

OK, I will try this for sure, it sounds very useful

Here is the resulting link to an almost full-screen image (of course the initial image itself has to be large):

DESKTOP.png

image is from standard iMac desktop

the trick is... when you drag an image into a post or comment, it will create a blockchain link that looks like this:
TEST1.png

In order to create a link to the full-size image, just copy the link itself (including the parenthesis) and paste it right after the first link like this:

TEST2.png

and finally, just put to a pair of brackets "[ ]" at the very beginning in front of the "!" and right in-between the duplicated link. So that second bracket goes between those two back-facing parenthesis.

like so:
TEST3.png

Thank you! Do you know what optimal image size in pixels should be when uploading?

well i've read that it should be as large as 2200 wide... not sure if there is a single optimal size.. i just kinda wingit and make em all a good size but not too big.

OK, the reason I was asking is that I can export all my files from Lightroom at the correct size, and then no coding.. although your solution looks slick! I'll find the info at some point. I was under the impression that it might be about 1000 px wide. Thanks for your suggestions, I might do a 2200 wide and see how that looks
