My name is Lindee and my username is my real name. I don't really like it but can't change it now so I will have to live with it. I was so excited to make a steem account that I didn't bother changing the automatically generated username. I learned about steemit while I was checking the price of bitcoin on coindesk.com. I am amazed at how much the price of bitcoin has increased recently and I am really disappointed that I didn't buy more! But that is how it always goes, I am always late to the party. That's why I was so happy to learn about this place. It's still pretty early, maybe I can finally be an early adopter of something big!
I used to be pretty good at writing but over the years I lost all my writing skills. I figured this would be a good opportunity to get some practice by submitting content to this site. This psychic told me I should be a writer and I've never had a lot of luck with psychics being right about things but I think they were right about that. I don't have any special talents so not much else I can do! I am going to attempt to grow a garden so I am thinking I will post about that as well as any places I travel to. I am excited to see what happens with this site!

Welcome @lindee-hammer, I feel the same way. I was late to all the crypto party. I was late to bitcoin...then ripple, then ethereum but now that I am on steemit, I work hard to make the best out of it. Feel free to come over on Slack and ask me questions. It's kind of relieving to hear you were also late to the party - as you're definitely rocking out on here!
though even though we may have showed up 'late,' it's still SO early on and there's so many developments that haven't even been dreamed up yet. so, this is actually a pretty good time to catch up and develop blockchain literacy, as it provides alot of opportunity to get in on all that's to come - which should surely be way bigger than Bitcoin, Ethereum, and perhaps even Steemit. in the meantime, Steemit seems an awesome place to test the waters, learn how it's all working, and contribute to the movement...
I always think that there couldn't possibly be any new opportunities because everything possible has already been done, but of course that is not true. I'm sure there will be many more developments in the future even though I can't imagine what they'd be! Looking forward to learning more about all this cryptocurrency stuff.
