You wanna quit? C'mon! don't. I understand your hard labours in writing your unique contents because steemit shun plagiarism, I understand your sleepless night getting to win that contest, I understand your participation in commenting, upvoting and resteeming other steemers posts but in all, you still have few views and no upvotes or less upvotes.
All these making you down? Please don't be. Don't be furious and be too much in hurry, you gonna get there. Trust me, It's just about time.
I know some of us wanna become or earn like @surpassinggoogle, @aggroed etc in one night. Could this be possible? I guess not.
To be honest, the idea of most on steemit is about the $ and not the VALUE. If you say "NO" comment below. 95% of us came because of the $ and if you don't get the $ immediately you come in or been long here, you wouldn't feel well. You gonna feel bad and that's the beginning of tiredness or frustration.
Hey dear! Please take this word, "Your Value added services in this community is what would attract UPVOTES to each valuable post you write or you've written".
You can imagine a friend invited you to a community where he has been earning big but you came in and haven't earn anything yet. But you've been working tirelessly just to surpass your co member that have been there for long. You wanna walk through that hundred staircase in a second? how is that possible? Just take it easy. Achieving greatness in a thing requires more time and attributes from you.
Here are the few guidelines to achieve your goal on steemit;
PATIENCE
In everything we do in life, patience is needed. As it's always said that "patient is a virtue". Yes it is! Many people that have this character would have been enjoying it because they would always win at the end.
Applying this on steemit is of great gain because patient is very much needful here. Many countless reasons for this. That's not where we going actually.
If you are such a type that's always in hurry, i don't think steemit is your place and if you still wanna make steemit your abode you gonna be very patients in achieving your goals.
As we all knew, even our God didn't create the world in a day. He patiently spent 6 days creating all things. If our God could do that, who are we not to be patient in what we do?
Moreover, our patience here means something, hope we know that? Our patience shouldn't be that we are idle.
In that your patience, that's where you get to know some tips, hint, info in this community even outside steemit. You get to learn or know somethings underground during this time. And when you've learned, craved for more information then you are good to go to the next stage.
DISCOVERING MY NICHE
Have you discovered your niche? Before coming to steemit, what do you normally do best that you love doing with much pleasure? Have you discovered that? If you haven't, please do. If not you might just be perambulating around the community.
Discovering your niche is so important because this is where you gonna show the world what you've got. You gorrit? If you're good in writing, you know writing is divided into different forms (Articles & blog posts, Research, Press releases, legal writing, creative writing etc).
Also, under articles & blog posts there you can find; motivational messages, word of encouragement and advice, Tips on Relationship, inspirational messages, Gospel articles and so on. If you are a writer, you must definitely fall in one.
And if you are not good in writing, then you should in; Graphics and designs or video & animations or Programming & Tech or Business or Digital marketing or Fun & Lifestyle. But if you are not good in anyone of these, meehn! You gonna build yourself up in one. The thing is, the community wanna know you for something.
If you've already discovered your niche then you are good to go the next stage
CONSISTENCY
Are you a type that do ON and OFF? That's not cool. You gonna be consistent in what you do and that when you will get noticed for your work.
The whales on steemit can be doing that now, but not for the upcoming. And the truth is, even before the whales became who they are today, they would never go off when they were still upcoming. You know it's normal, when you've achieve greatness, you gonna be relaxing sometimes but not for the upcoming.
COMMENTING AND UPVOTING OTHERS
I know you have been doing this tirelessly and yet, you've not gained what you wanted. Hey! Just keep up. It's normal because you are just starting.
The truth is, if you keep on doing this daily, people you are commenting and upvoting their posts will get to notice you and that's the fact. One day, they might just visit your blog and surprise you. Yea! It happens.
PARTICIPATE IN CONTESTS
For as many contest available you know you can go for, then go for it. Even if you don't win, you still gonna earn in your contest post if it's of great value.
Aside from winning, another value is the publication of your name. I could remember #air-clinic contest. If you are not among the winners, you could still be part of the "honourable mentions". These are the sets that tried winning but not yet getting there. So instead of #Air-Clinic scraping their names, they were listed as honourable mentions. Therefore, your name being here is also a means of publication
JOIN A SERVER ON DISCORD APP
As we all knew that steemit is a social networking community and not only based on earnings, you gat to make as many friends you like. In partnership with Steemit, there are many social platforms you could make friends and one of it is discord, another is Telegram, another is https://steemit.chat and so on.
Make freinds, meet new people and relate with them. Always participate in the general discussion channel, follow each rules in every server you join, share your post link on post promotion channel if available on each server.
I'm very sure if you follow all these guidelines and you do it consistently, trust me, their will definitely be a change and you would be amazed when $ starts falling on you.

Fantastic writing, It is really relateable as I myself have been posting for a month. My first intro post went well and an about me post about being a life model gained $100 I was thrilled. Then after that I was only gaining a few cents and zeros. We need to keep in mind that we need to build our crowd and if we go back to the stone age (ahem! I mean Facebook) we were never getting paid and yet they made billions...to even receive 1 cent let alone 100 dollars matters. Lets contribute to creating an internet of value and in a few years we can all say yeah, I was there.

Well said. Everything requires grit.... Including steemit ....your creativity plus consistency, patience and the right network will determine your growth. Your mindset is really important too.
