WHAM! Nothing like feeling a powerful jab underneath your rib cage that immediately jolts your body back into a more appropriate position for a 38 week pregnant free spirit! That is the unintended result of letting my thoughts wander and posture slump considerably as I sit here excited to introduce myself to the Steemit community.
My name is Nelissa and I am a young lady with a background in nursing. Since getting married last summer to a wonderful man, I have switched careers to a full-time Domestic Engineer. My Dutch roots are reflected in my rebel personality, love of food creation and devouring, and a firm belief that growing a garden is key to lowering your food bill and the best tool in your wellness kit of preventative health measures.
I often ponder the blessings and challenges of raising a child in this day and age. My experience is about to begin full throttle, and even though I consider myself as ready as one could be, I can't help but appreciate my upbringing by my non-conformist parents. Question everything! This is probably why when I stumbled across Larken Rose the light bulb went off in my head and suddenly everything made sense. Rule yourself! Be free! It was that earth shattering idea that removed layers of limitations from my point of perception and transformed them into limitless possibilities. With a little one on the way, the urge to be free in all aspects of life is expanding exponentially as I think about the world now and the world this social network seeks to create. It is my reason for joining and contributing content.
It is my intent to share new information, discuss new ideas, dissect previously held beliefs, delve deeper into current beliefs and gain a deeper understanding from those living in other lands. On the lighter side, I am looking forward to sharing recipes, gardening insights, random thoughts and opinionated pieces.
My life manta is simple: Make your life a playground, not a battlefield.
