Hello Steemers, My Name is Sam - Can Anyone Help Me with Uploading a Profile Picture?

Hello Steemers

My name is Sam, a British landscape artist living in New Zealand. I love painting landscapes and traditional realism landscape art!

I'm new to Steemit and the world of crypto, blockchain etc, in fact I'm still trying to get my head around it as I am not technology minded!

I'm having difficulty uploading a profile picture. In the settings it asks for a profile pic URL and when I add a URL from my website it comes out blank. Can anyone help me with this?

    Hello Sam, welcome to Steem! :-)

    You are doing nothing wrong with your profile picture and it would work but.... for some reason your site doesn't let you do that.
    So here's the trick:

    • Save your desired profile picture on your disk.
    • Drag and drop it into your post or comment.
      (You do not actually need to post it)
    • Site would store that image for you on its own servers for convenience and speed providing you an URL to it.
    • Use that URL as your profile picture.

    I've actually already done that for you, so here you are, use that one:

    I'm sorry can't really help without more information, but my first guess would be that the image is too large to be a profile picture or some other really specific parameter. I don't know the resolution it has to be though, sorry I can't be of more help. I found this article on steemit, maybe it can help in some small way.

    Welcome! My name is also Sam!
    I had a similar issue, which was solved when I uploaded my photo up to Photobucket then copied the url from there. Also, something odd happened to mine in that the url pasted twice into the profile picture field; since their length can make it hard to tell, just double check by clearing what is in there and refilling the box.     Hi Sam, nice to meet you and thanks for that. gtg sorted my profile picture out which is awesome so now it works. I only found out about this website a few days ago so I'm bungling my way through it, the concept of blockchain is something I'm still trying to get my head around, especially as I'm not technology minded!
