Hello, and welcome to my blog! My name is Jessica Marino, and I am a senior at Parsons School of Design in New York City. I'm currently double-majoring in Photography and Writing so I can pursue a career in writing Travel blogs for agencies across the nation. I also have a bit of a passion for graphics!

I'm currently still adjusting to life here in the Big Apple as I get settled in to my new apartment. Until recently, I had to take a bus all the way from White Plains to go to school here! This city seems endless compared to White Plains, there's always so much going on! I've started visiting the local tourist spots to write reviews on, such as the Ground Zero Memorial Center, the Statue of Liberty, and --my personal favorite-- Broadway Street. I haven't seen any recent plays, but in high school drama class it was extra credit to see a Broadway production and write about it.

The city is always crawling with pedestrians and traffic, even at night!Β

The city’s night life is pretty interesting as well with the variety of different venues to attend to, like clubs, movies, concerts and more! I really think this city was the right choice to start with for my travel blogs. I can’t even find the words to describe Times Square, it’s… sensory overload. Huge flashing advertisements, shoulder-to-shoulder crowds, honking horns and angry cab drivers, live news broadcasts, and street performers; this part of the city has it all.Β

This city is so big, it's dizzying! I constantly have to check the GPS on my phone to see where I am! With so many street names, I don't know how people can possibly learn their way around this metropolis. Don't even get me started on the cab fare rates; I mean, I get that it's competitive and all, but why does it have to be nearly a hundred dollars to go a few blocks away? Everything here seems to be way more expensive than White Plains. I'm even searching for a second job just to pay for my "cheap" apartment! By cheap, I mean nearly $1300 a month!

Speaking of work, it seems the market here is a bit tough on newcomers like me. I moved in a little over a year ago, and I only just picked up a job at a local restaurant as a waitress a few weeks ago. I work weekends while I attend Parsons during the week. It’s been tough, struggling between steady income and school. Luckily, my parents' college fund is paying my way through Parsons, but not my apartment or food bills…

Β In between the restaurant and school, I’ve been making some extra cash as a freelance writer online. I set up an account on a site called Upwork, where I can search for work as well as be searched. I haven’t actually been contacted yet, but I’ve contacted others in need of my writing skills. It’s still not as steady as the restaurant, but I can set my own hourly pay rate, at least!

Anyway, I learned about something really neat while I was at work the other day. There were a group of guys from the Stock Exchange discussing their companies' ratings over lunch, and I heard them mention something called STEEM coins, which I assumed was something like those Bitcoins things I heard about on the news a few times. So, when I finished my shift, I went home to look it up. Β Sure enough, STEEM was an up-and-coming form of cryptocurrency. It was actually worth more than physical money as well! I dug deep into the internet to find out all I could about STEEM coins and how to get started with them. I searched through every site I could find on them, how to invest, how to exchange, the full nine yards. I could barely understand what any of it meant as I don't have experience in investment and exchange like that, so I checked around for classes I could take. Luckily I live in the same state as the nation's Stock Exchange Market, so classes on the subject are plentiful - and inexpensive, to my surprise! I enrolled in the nearest class to my apartment, which I start attending ASAP. I can't wait to explore cryptocurrencies and all they have to offer!

What i did found was STEEMIT.COM and i am excited so far.Currently i dont have any cash to put into it but i would love to at some point,i hope it won't be late!

Maybe somebody will arrange a meetup in NY soon?Where can i read the latest steem news?

So,i guess i should close with a warm greeting to you all!

LET ME GIVE YOU A KISS!

Jessica, you should verify your identity in introduction posts. Some users write the date on on piece of paper and take a selfie. Best of luck.

can i add a photo to this post??

Not sure if you can edit a submission. If you can't, don't worry, people get do overs here.

careful about editing submissions. Payout starts over

i cant find an option to add a photo, what should i do???

You can always redo your introduction in a new post with verification. I'm not saying it will do better but if u check out successful introduction posts, they are usually verified. Have a look at some.

If you cannot edit the post, perhaps, you can load the pic in a host like steeming.com and then add as a reply in your this post with a link.

if next the [Reply] option, there's an [Edit] then you can update but I think update are not allow on post which have payout.

cant you just edit the post and put in a new photo?

i dont see an edit button.i just posted photos to my new post

normally next to the reply button...

wellcome

thanks for the kiss. love the way you put this intro together. i'm still putting aside the thought of an intro after a few post. anyway, welcome to the club.
