Hello Everyone.
I just joined Steemit in the last week and am still figuring things out here but I have already read some really good and informative articles. (a shout out to Canadian rebel, his articles on homesteading are terrific!)
I am a historian by education currently working as a substitute teacher mostly in kindergarten to 4rth grade.
I was raised on one of the last small subsistence farms here in SW lower Michigan with culturally my feet in two worlds as my mothers family originated in (at the time partially assimilated Mohawks (Iroquois League of Five Nations) and my fathers family were "old stock" pioneering Americans. Both taught me a lot about farming, America, survival and wild crafting skills that stood me in good stead in my 12 year career of military service (US Army enlisted medic and 7 years as a combat arms Armor Branch officer).
I am interested in permaculture, Prepping and survival, artisanal farming and gardening and both real estate investing and internet marketing/e-commerce, and I love to learn and teach.
Steemit seems to be a great platform to learn from others, to teach and to write and read and grow on.
I am looking forward to growing with the Steemit community, Glad to be here!
Hello and welcome to steemit!
Welcome! I'm pretty new myself and am looking forward to some fun here. Love farming and permaculture, too. Hope we can share quite a few posts together. What kind of plant are you holding in your last picture?
Welcome to Steemit, I'm here to give you a vote on your very first comment! Great job engaging with the community!
Thank you very much! :D Looking forward to many more to come!
Wow. Nice to see our 1&only Bernie supporting new members. Keep up the support as always. 😘
It is a beech nut and leaves from a American beech tree. (species Fagus grandifolia) one of the climax trees of our Great Lakes forests, very tasty nuts but usually the squirrels get to them before I can.
Thanks! I thought they looked familiar. I just wasn't sure. Good to have a picture of it now.
Good enough you know about homesteading . I did a lot of post last year about natural ways to grow our foods using aquaponics, fish as fertilizer, eggshells, urine etc. Check them out.
Steemit is great and am sure if u keep it original, you have fun and wealth. Welcome and let's keep in touch

Welcome to the community! I'm still a beginner, but I'm finding that it's very important to read other articles that interest you and try to provide feedback.
I look forward to hear what you have to say about ecommerce/internet marketing as I've been side hustling on all things internet for about the last year. I make far more at my normal job (engineering), but I'm hoping one day the flippening will happen haha
Welcome to Steemit! Glad to have another permaculture geek on the platform, we are growing in numbers.
