MY INTRODUCTORY POST

in #introduceyourself2 years ago

I believe one of the most tricky things to do is write one’s own biography because you get to stop for a moment and think. But then I wonder, why arrange your thoughts if you are to talk about ‘you’? Oh well, I guess that’s because it is only natural to want to make an impression.
Hello everybody!!! My name is Eli Unominum Miracle and am a dark skinned spectacled girl, LOL.
IMG_7232.jpeg

The glasses are highly recommended for my myopic astigmatic high – pressure eyes. Most people call me Mimi, some may just choose to call me "Miracle" but there’s barely anyone left in the world that consistently calls me my first name Unominum. It’s quite a tongue twister and there’s no singular person who have gotten the pronunciation right at first trial. So, I resigned to always say introduce myself as “Miracle”, that way everyone’s tongue is intact at the end of the introduction.
My roots
I was born in Port Harcourt, the capital of River State, one of the places in Nigeria where you would find a lot of overhead bridges, colloquially called “fly overs". My place of Origin however is about a two-hour drive from my place of birth, a small village called Joinkrama-4, in Ahoada-west local government of River State. I’m the last of a large family of 6 and my position in my family makes me really happy.

IMG_7085.jpeg

I have spent a great proportion of my lifetime passing through the various phases of schooling in River State, most of my holidays in Lagos State, and a tiny portion of my life in Bayelsa State. It’s therefore safe to say that I have experienced life in different parts of Nigeria.
At the moment however, I am a final year medical student of the university of port Harcourt (UNIPORT).

VEN_0448.jpg

That line you just read is one of the most depressing sentence I have had to repeat for two solid years now because I am in a country where unions in charge of tertiary institutions (Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU as it called here), can embark on a strike action for 7 months while undergraduate education is paused.
Enough of the unhappy tales!
Meet the cheerful part of me
I love to study, observe, write and analyze. Writing for me is the best method of expressing my thoughts and has helped me one too many times. I write when I am happy, sad or uncertain about how I feel. As for analyzing, perhaps I just love to think that there’s more to everything than just the surface. I am not too deep though… lol. I believe strongly in the power of observation cos it helps you see the salient things which may become all that matters.
As far as sport is concerned, I play table tennis.
IMG_6061.jpeg
I believe myself from past experiences to be fairly good at goal keeping. I love to watch a good game of football but the best parts for me is when the sport analysts begin their thing. It’s so intriguing! I however for the sake of my mental health, I have refused to affiliate myself as a fan of a specific club in the Premiership or championship. This is more, so that I can erase all bias from my mind when I decide to analyze and also so that I do not become a foci for unnecessary banter. With all these said, I love Erling Haaland, a Norwegian footballer whom at the moment plays for Manchester City and is the highest goal scorer with 10 goals in 6 games (2 hat trick), so far in the premiership.
Board games like scrabble are my thing but then I have a secret love for chess which I still do not know but would love to learn how to play. I love Jenga too, especially because I am always looking for the easiest block to take out without destroying the tower.
My soul food is music and I love to explore new genres. I tried one too many times to play an acoustic but I failed successfully.
IMG_20201128_175115_115.jpg
I will try again soon enough.
I am eager to learn, not afraid of making mistakes for in there lies my learning.
So I make a soft appeal, that you all caress me with love and directions and everything that would make my Hive experience heavenly.
Thank you all so much in anticipation. It feels great to take this step.

Welcome to the Hive community @unomi!
We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and have found a new home here.

Seven suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, and Hivesigner,
  3. The master password and the owner key are only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
  7. DO NOT OPEN any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @brittandjosie and @jamerussell from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.

If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Hiveans available who can help you; you can click to go to The Terminal in Discord here:

Have fun and happy Hiving!

HIVE can really be quite overwhelming and so I'm really appreciative of all the help and guidance. It makes me feel at home and ofcourse welcomed. I have carefully gone through all the seven suggestions and duly taken note. I have literally been baby-sited by @bhoa and getting even more guide is making my experience, however young quite worthwhile. Thank you immensely @jamerussell.
And I'm blushed by the kindness of @brittandjosie and @heyhaveyamet who took out time to present and promote my publication to accentuate my growth.

Hello @unomi! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive and introduced yourself to the community - congratulations and welcome! You didn't mention how you happened to find our blockchain home - did an established Hive member tell you about it? If so, be sure to tag them so they know you're part of the Hive community now.

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities

Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works. For instance, there's a post in the collection called 3 things Newbies should do in their first week on Hive that you might find helpful.

Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). For more information, check this post - Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise by hivewatchers.

If you have questions, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server and we'll do our best to answer them, and again welcome to Hive!

Oh! my bad. I was introduced to Hive by @bhoa and that's how I found the block chain home. I got a hold of the "3 things a newbie should do in their first week" and am working on the application of the invaluable advise from that piece. I'll surely not hesitate to ask questions and I'm glad there's a platform that's ready to give me answers. Like I said in my introductory post, I'm open and willing to learn so I do need all the help I can get. I'm immensely grateful @lovesniper .

About 15 yrs ago (long before the blockchain) I decided I was going to sit down and write my life history, from my POV and how I remembered it.
I got up to TWENTY NINE PAGES, when I came to one of the watershed events of my life that happened at age 12-13, and I could go no further, because everything seemed to be me trying to justify what happened.
Been in therapy ever since, no closer to getting past that, and now not really to interested in completing that.
I still have it though

Sometimes we believe ourselves to have moved past certain occurrences in our lives until something brings back all the memories and we realize that we actually just froze the memory but never actually did move past it and sadly sometimes, we never ever get to.
Thank you @jerrytsuseer for reblogging my introductory post.

Welcome to Hive.... Amazing introduction

Thank you so much. I'm glad you found my introductory post amazing.

Hi Mimi😊 it's so nice to have you here. You made a good choice to join hive. Shame on ASUU, we're surviving🙈😂 I saw that you're one of @bhoa students. I'm your classmate here😂 I'm the “unserious” one sha😂 Anyway, it's been a whole lot for the past 2 months. It's been stressful and productive as well. I hope to see more of your posts. Welcome dear❤️🫂 @unomi

Thank you so much @silviafx for the really warm welcome. It's cool to have a class mate. @bhoa is an extraordinary coach who expects certain level of discipline and commitment from his students. But then it's cause he wants what's best for us all...

You may think yourself unserious until you meet someone worse.

You mentioned we're surviving. Does that mean you're also affected by the ASUU plight?

I'm sorry you've had a whole lot on your plate for the plate for the last 2 months but I'm glad you're doing well non-the
-less.

Having someone look forward to my post in the future gives me a lovely feel. Thank you so much.

Do keep thriving 🌹

Thanks once more.

Oh yes. I'm a 400level nursing student from Uniport. You're welcome dear❤️ Looking forward to your first post💆‍♀️

Oh my! It's pretty small world

Welcome to Hive ... and do also check out the Hive Open Mic and Q-Inspired communities to meet Hivers who love music! Ladies of Hive community is for ... well ... ladies of Hive! There are many photography communities as well, and you are so beautiful you might even consider joining the models of Hive community (it might be called Hive Models, but I don't remember right now)! If you do any kind of arts and crafts, check out DIYHub community as well!

The most important thing: find something you are passionate enough to share about consistently. Hive rewards consistency, over a long period of time. Don't be discouraged in the early days if your posts are not always seen -- keep making good content consistently.

you are so beautiful you might even consider joining the models of Hive community (it might be called Hive Models, but I don't remember right now)!

I was absolutely flushed when I read that. Thank you. I should really check out that community.

And thanks for the valuable advise of consistently making quality. I would need to that.

One more thing, you mentioned working in my line of passion. Nothing beats that.

Thanks so much for writing back.

Welcome to Hive, Mimi! I hope you enjoy here. 😊

Thank you so much @patsitivity

I was searching for another posts you've made, but welcome to Hive, you should try to write more posts often, keep the consistency going

I should definitely do that.
Thank you so much.

My chief, my chief, you're highly welcome. Its a great pleasure to have you here.

You're doing perfectly well😊

The strike haven't tainted your hype vibe at all 🤣

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Welcome to Hive @unomi. I found your name so easy to pronounce, I had to try out the tongue twister in it but tried it with the resemblance it has with encomium.
The first thing that caught my attention in your post is your brown skin, it's beautiful and full of life with the red oil you used as body cream (🤣😂🤣 just teasing).
Come to sports, I love scrabble. Scrabble is the game for me anytime be sure it paid my school fees from 200 level acted I won the regional contest. And like you, I have always looked at chess from a distance like it's a no-go-area.

Ahaoda rings a bell. I have been there like twice. Though, on a visit by the RCCG church over there. Port Harcourt is a good place, one of such luxury places in Nigeria.
The ASUU stuff is one of its kind in the record of strike actions we have had in Nigeria. I had my fair share two months after I got admission to study history. It was eight long months of the strike.

You introduction is beautiful as you and I believe you'd find the fun you desire in this large blockchain.
Welcome again.

I literally melt to see that you took your time to not just read, but resonate with my post and write back.

What if I say I actually have used oil on my skin before 🤣🤣. But it wasn't red oil though, perhaps groundnut oil 🤣🤣🤣. Anyways, I love Pears baby oil even though I'm not a baby.

Wow! Scrabble payed your fees! Speak about a man's gifts will make ways for him. You're so admirable right now. wow! I can't seem to get over that!!

RCCG is actually my church though.

I'm sorry about your awful experience with ASUU, I guess we all have our fair share of the Nigerian problem. I hope to recover from all of these soon enough.

It's been all smiles writing to you and I'm excited you didn't find my name difficult to pronounce but then I'll never be able to have a proof of that unless I hear you say it!

🤣😂🤣😂🤣 hear me say your name? Pretty soon (could be later that I think) you'd hear me say your name.

The oil thing. Pears Baby lotion was my best too. Until lately, I didn't change. Still, a moisturizer is what I went for though.
I'm seriously looking forward to that time when we would look back to Nigeria and testify how we have faired.

Do have a great time on the Hive blockchain.
How did the independence Obidient rally went at your end?

It was massive here in Lagos and there was a lot of traffic as a result but the enthusiasm was throbbing and palpable.

However, my mood has been dampen by the strike of which I am highly victimized so it's mainly pain and lack of enthusiasm towards my country that I now feel.

You love Pears too! wow! That's a lovely coincidence.
