RE: Who the hell is The Mortgage Nomad?

in #introductionlast month

First of all, welcome to hive.

What an amazing story! Seems like 4 different full lives and then some! I have a lot of questions and a few common grounds. Mortgages are not boring for some of us. Also some of us like oil and gas and can spend hours talking about solar. So point is there are many things in common.

Second, listen first to your friend @beelzael as I have spent a lot of time on him showing him the ropes. It’s time he pays it forward.

Third, look around and have a good time. That’s all that matters.

Hello Azircon, thanks for the encouragement. I've done a lot in life, some things a bit more exciting than others...that's for sure. Renewable energy has been a passion for a bit more than a decade already, and I'd love to see Ecuador do a lot more of it. @beelzael has been infinitely patient with me as I had a LOT of questions, and always available to help me land the airplane. I really appreciate you reaching out and look forward to exploring the ecosystem. Have a great evening/day/morning...lol

I live in Houston, Tx so we are same time zone likely.

I'll try to be as good of a guide as you have been @azircon ! It's a completely new experiences, and I hope I can count on you if @mortgagenomad1 and I hit any walls. I already sent him the netiquette and explained some of the basics, and am excited about this new role 😅

What you should try and build is a “village”.

I wrote several posts about that!

How we need the village to raise children and form community

And probably many more :-D Community is something that I've been writing a lot about. The more I read and think, the more I believe that our society in its current state can't sustain politics anymore, as even our supposed best are not that good. For me, that means a focus back on the small communities that we build around us over time is a feasible endeavor and consequence to counter the ongoing fragmentation.

There's also a big difference between digital communities and analogue communities,
, with the digital tending to become an echo-chamber, while the analogue one can - if the other is accepted as such - maintain oneself grounded.

And so forth... Lily's school is a good example for community and how I feel about it, and it always gives me things to think about.

So far so good! I'm an old dog that can learn a few more tricks🤣🤣
