What’s up Hivers?
Guess what? I accidentally discarded my 1500-word intro draft a while ago so I have to rewrite this again. It took me more than a week to compose that draft but now writing this took me less than two hours. I guess, it wasn’t such an unlucky experience, right? At least I’ve learned to make another copy of each content I write here especially when unexpected things happen. Do yáll feel me? 😁
Anyway, this introduction is about me, my hobbies, my career as a freelancer, and Axie Infinity. I’ve been lurking around in Hive for more than a month and enjoyed reading the different content posted here. And I can’t wait to write my content too!!
Now, let me share with you more about myself, and I'll truly be grateful if you keep reading until the end of this introduction. Thanks a lot!
ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Raniel but you can call me Raine for short. I am from Cebu, Philippines. I worked as an Industrial Engineer for 2 years but quit the corporate world in March last year, just before the lockdown in my city. This decision was the biggest decision I made in my career because I realized that the corporate setup didn’t suit me. I worked more than 12 hours a day and it took a toll on my health. Although risky, but that didn’t stop me to find other ways to earn a living. That’s how I discovered the world of freelancing.
I’m now a freelance Brand Designer and Social Media Manager. I love my current set-up as I have control of my time. Still thinking if I will get back to the field someday but right now, I’m settled with my current career. I love discovering new things especially the online world, and now hopefully learn more about the crypto world. 😊
I don't have a lot of hobbies but I enjoy reading books, watching Movies, K-Drama and even listening to K-Pop. I'm not that active type of person who is into sports or other adventurous activities. I used to stay at home, and spend the rest of day in my room by binge watching some movies or series.
Currently, I'm learning how to do embroidery just to have a new hobby. But it wasn't as easy as I thought since I don't know how to stitch well. It's challenging but hey, it's fun to learn new things. So, I'm up for the challenge. Would love to share with you the finish output tho. ^^
Probably what excites me most is when I get to travel with friends and colleagues. I don't know why but traveling gives me so much happiness and satisfaction. I want to travel the world and just enjoy the things around. New experiences are always the most memorable thing in each travel. However, I haven't traveled alone yet. It's on my bucketlist because I wonder how it feels to travel independently and do things my way. It sounds exciting so I'm looking forward 'til the boarders are open for traveling freely. 😍
FREELANCE
You probably wonder why Freelance? It's because I love to have control of my time. I'm happy each time I get to close a deal with a client, and deliver the final output well. I help entrepreneurs build their brand from logos to colors, and make sure that their brand will help them standout from the tight competition. Branding is more than just the aesthetics but it's about building the trust of the customers and serve a purpose.
I also do social media management where I manage social accounts of some businesses. I also create content for them as well as the social media designs that aligns to their branding. The growth on social media helps businesses boost their presence and brand awareness. The built audience somehow turn to paying clients or customers.
Doing these two niches, I have learned so many things. Aside from the less hours of working and time freedom, I also do hope that I could achieve financial freedom by breaking through the online industry.
I had no design experience prior to this freelancing but I had my ways to learn design. Luckily, I achieved the skill that is needed in this field. I realized that design is a passion that have slept within me for a long time. I am upskilling now so I could offer better aesthetics and help business brands standout in the tight market through a solid branding.
AXIE INFINITY
Why did I include Axie Infinity in my intro? That's because I am a proud Axie scholar of Loot Squad. It was thanks to this community that I met great people whom introduced me to the blockchain world.
If you aren't familiar with Axie, its currently the leading blockchain game. It allows players to earn SLP (Smooth Love Potion) tokens through gameplay. Then, the SLPs can later be converted into real cash. A lot of people's lives have changed through this game, and if you get to know it, you might love it as well.

How I found Hive?
It was all thanks to @axiebuzz who introduced Hive in the Axie community. When I saw it two months ago, I just did a quick search but didn't dig further. But a month ago, I got curious again and Buzz told me how things work here. I would also help promote Axie Buzz to more content creators in the axie community.
Also, I would like to thank @ybanezkim26 who guided me and invited me in that Hive Talks event. It was fun and very informative. I enjoyed it a lot and learn many things especially about HIVE. Shout out to the very energetic host @indayclara and another name I remembered is @romeskie Hope to join another Hive event with you soon.
Lastly, I'd like to thank @apsu for guiding me and answering my queries. Thanks for lending me some hive power too.

I see. You've stayed quite long here. Are you Filipino? Haha yes it's still crypto so it can pump or down anytime. But the game is still new, still have more potential. About 40% players of axie came from Philippines hehe.
My favorite movie would probably be 3 Idiots and Every child is special ( both Indian movie), Miracle in cell no. 7 (Korean movie) Lmao i love watching movies with great lessons. Hbu?
hihi. :) i am american citizen, but half chinese (mom), half white (dad is german/french). i went to PH in 2002 to meet my filipino wife. so i was living in PH while waiting for her US visa, went to california, then back here to hawaii, back again to live in PH for 3 years, and now i'm back in hawaii living with my daughter. i know, it's complicated. :P
I am more of a exciting, no-need to think too hard, look at all the cool stuff, kinda movie watcher. I would say that marvel movies and lord of rings, star wars.. those are my faves.

Im curious how you discarded it. It happened to me once too just when I was about to post it. Instead of "paste" due to the size of my fingers I pressed "cut" without realizing I highlighted the entire text. Yup, including the photos. mura jd ko kahilakon!

It was kinda sad and funny lol I screenshot the draft and asked someone why I couldn't publish. However, I made another draft. Instead of copying the article, I copied the screenshot and paste it and got saved automatically. Then, I deleted it. HAHAHAHA but I deleted the wrong draft. The other one was a photo, the other was the words. I deleted the later. Makahilak!!

Good on you for making a change in your life and knowing when to stop doing that crazy 12 hour a day schedule. Sometimes we realise that it's not worth that when it's too late, so good to see you did that earlier on!
Bucket list to travel alone you say? Well, I have a lot of experience in that field , for me it's the other way around! I wish I could finally travel with people, it gets lonely on your own. But you are right, there are advantages , when you make your own decisions where to go , what to do, what time to get up, when to stop, how far to walk, change your mind 10 times a day if wanted and even hang out with strangers if you feel like as you meet people on the way and maybe even have some fun unexpected surprises. It also gives you a chance to reflect and learn about yourself, it can be scary sometimes, but it also makes you stronger, not everyone can handle travelling on their own. For sure, a good experience though. Good luck and all the best on hive! :)
