Hello, Hivers! I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a new member of the hive, it is me @queeniemary. I am very glad that someone introduced this platform to me. Now I can express my feelings and share my thoughts with the help of this platform.
Since I was a kid, I always liked writing and reading because it is my hobby—not just a hobby, it is part of who I am. When I am writing, I feel happiness because writing is also my way of letting my emotions go. When I feel down, I just write or read. That is why I am thankful to be part of this platform since I love writing.
I use playing an instrument as a coping mechanism for my friendship, family, and school-related stress. You will discover in this narrative how I overcame my worries, anxiety, and depression throughout a mental breakdown.

(The Hobbies That Brought Me Solace)
I am Queenie, a 19-years-old college student and this is my story. At the age of 10, I already knew how to play the ukulele and flute. I found a friend and comfort through music since my parents forbade me from going outside. And at the age of 15, I learned how to play guitar and a little bit of piano.

I also write or compose songs where I can express myself, and I also write stories since my imagination is really wide, it helps me a lot because since then I was only in my house, which is why I did not have friends back then. If you imagine my life, it was lonely. My bed was my only comfort zone at that time. Not until God gave me these gifts that helped me overcome everything. WORKING STUDENT Sharing the word of God I work in our church and my duties include sharing the word of God, teaching kids, cleaning, cooking, etc. I chose to work in the church to surrender my life to God. While I am studying, I also share His words with my classmates. Since I am a worker in our church, I don't get to go home often, but that's fine with me because it helps me to be independent. Teaching Kids I did not want to be a burden to my family, so I decided to surrender my life to God. Even at a young age, I already understood the importance of managing my daily expenses. As I grew older, I realized the need to become independent, which led me to become a working student to cover my school expenses. The conflict inside our family Growing up in a small town, my journey has been a rollercoaster ride of challenges and triumphs. I am here to share with you a story that delves into the complexities of family life. My father, a motorcycle driver, often struggled with addiction and anger, while my mother, a simple housewife, carried the weight of our family's debt. Despite the hardships we faced, our determination and resilience have allowed us to find strength amid adversity. Let me first introduce you to my father, a hardworking motorcycle driver whose struggle with addiction tarnished our family dynamic. While he displayed moments of kindness and love, his dependency on alcohol often consumed him, transforming him into a different person. Though it is painful to recall those times, I have come to understand that addiction is a disease that can grasp even the strongest individuals. When under the influence, anger overwhelmed him, causing him to lash out and unintentionally destroy the peace we so desperately sought. I remember the nights of shattered glass and broken belongings littering our living room floor. It was during these moments that my mother, my siblings, and I huddled together, seeking solace and safety in each other's arms. Me and my mother Transitioning to my mother, a resilient and strong housewife who carried the burden of our family's debt. Despite her limited financial knowledge, she bravely managed our household expenses to the best of her abilities. Embracing the Role of the Fourth Child: With my 2 brothers Being the fourth child has its dynamics within a family. While I am not the eldest or the youngest, I have always to become someone my siblings can look up to, a source of inspiration for them to break free from the cycle of poverty. This role, although challenging at times, has become a driving force in my pursuit of success. I am determined to pave the way for my siblings, proving that with dedication and hard work, it is possible to establish a more prosperous future by the grace of God. Worst experience As I grew up, I met many friends, but those friendships did not last long because they were built on lies. I only wanted what was best for them, but they could not see it. I experienced a lot of pain at a young age, but I survived because if God had not saved me from the darkest moments of my life, I do How I came to know Hive Meeting with @mommyjane Me and @chimegipamus This platform is a blessing in disguise because now I can finally express myself and write everything without being judged. I felt joy when I was with my instruments when I was writing songs or stories, when I drew everything that was on my mind.
As a working student, it is indeed challenging to juggle both studying and working at the same time. It can be quite difficult to balance the demands of school and work. However, I have chosen this path because I also want to help my parents. They are unable to afford my financial needs as a college student, considering the various expenses that come with it.

As my father succumbed to his addiction, chaos would ensue within the walls of our
home.
My father's addiction had caused a great deal of stress and anxiety to our family. My mother is a fighter, though she is not perfect but for me, she is the best mother on earth for being so brave despite all the problems that she is facing.

"I struggled with depression at a young age due to my family problems and the fear I felt every time my father came home drunk. It was the darkest moment of my life. I even expressed my wish to end my life to get rid of my fear in a prayer to God at that time. However, God is so good that even in the darkest moments, He provides me with light. He saved me from depression and gave me another reason to fight.

not think I would be here right now, strong and always fighting. It was all because of God. Right now, I am serving God, giving myself to Him, surrendering my worries and fears to Him, and that is the best decision I have ever made."
I came to know Hive with the help of @chimegipamus, She encouraged me to join Hive to help alleviate my stress through writing. She also mentioned that it would enhance my grammar and writing skills. I also want to thank @mommyjane for helping me understand the dos and don'ts of this platform. She took the time to explain it to me, and I truly appreciate her effort and time. I have begun to enjoy writing, all thanks to these people.
