Friends, today unfortunately I have to tell you about something that touches me a lot. I love nature and open spaces and can't stand the sight of the eco monster right behind my home. I'm deeply angry at this road that has no respect for anything and for anyone.
Amici, oggi purtroppo devo parlarvi di una cosa che mi tocca molto. Amo la natura e gli spazi aperti e non sopporto la vista dell'ennesimo eco mostro proprio dietro casa mia. Sono profondamente indignato da questa strada che non ha rispetto per nulla e per nessuno.

To build it are destroying thousands of hectares of fields and nature, not to mention people who have been evacuated or robbed of their land. Yes robbed! Because if they didn't subscribe to their conditions and refused to accept the expropiation, they didn't even get paid. But I know of many who, although they have accepted, haven't yet seen a penny for their land. And this is democracy? Best to avoid the discourse. It almost even touched me all this, because the original project would have passed on my land, "fortunately" didn't happen, but it also brought me great suffering, erasing the paradise on which I grew up.
Per costruirla stanno distruggendo migliaia di ettari di campi e natura, per non parlare delle persone che sono state sfrattate o derubate dei lori terreni. Si derubate! Perchè se non si sottostava alle loro condizioni e ci si rifiutava di accettare l'esproprio, non si veniva neppure pagati. Ma so di molti che sebbene hanno accettato non hanno visto ancora un centesimo per le loro terre. E questa è democrazia? Vabbè evitiamo il discorso. Per poco non toccava anche a me tutto questo, perchè il progetto originale sarebbe passato anche sui miei terreni, "fortunatamente" non è accaduto, ma mi ha procurato ugualmente una grande sofferenza, cancellando il paradiso su cui ero cresciuto.

Quando esci dietro casa mia, ti ritrovi, anzi, ti ritrovavi subito in una distesa di diversi km quadrati priva di costruzioni, attraversata da un torrente con tutti i suoi boschi attorno. Un posto magico, dove sono cresciuto e ho passato gran parte della mia infanzia, esplorandolo e osservando la grande varietà di animali che vi abitano, oggi in pericolo a causa dei lavori.

In the center there was also a pond, where I often went fishing, there were many fish, including trout, eels, redfish and little carp. More than 10 years have passed since the lake was closed, I still remember the chilling show as it was yesterday. Thousands of deadly fish died choking. I tried to save some, but at the time I was just the scooter and I went back and forth with fishy buckets bringing them into another stream, but being summer in 2 day time it was all over and those I was able to save were a ridiculous amount compared to the dead ones.
Nel centro si trovava anche un laghetto, dove andavo spesso a pescare, c'erano molti pesci, tra cui trote, anguille, carassi e scardole. Ora è stata deviata la roggia che lo alimentava e il laghetto è stato completamente chiuso ricoprendolo con la terra, una volta che si era prosciugato, facendo morire migliaia di pesci. Saranno passati più di 10 anni da quando è stato chiuso il lago, ricordo ancora quello spettacolo agghiacciante come fosse ieri. Migliaia di pesci che morivano lentamente soffocando. Io ho tentato di salvarne alcuni, ma all'epoca avevo solo il motorino e continuavo avanti e indietro con secchi di pesce portandoli in un altra roggia, ma essendo estate nel tempo di 2 giorni era finito tutto e quelli che sono riuscito a salvare erano una quantità ridicola in confronto a quelli morti.

The beautiful thing is that now nobody wants the gravel, even the quarries that pull it out no longer work because the demand is over. In fact now there are rumors that the road will probably never been end. I hated it before, now that I know it destroyed everything for nothing I see no more!
Siccome siamo in Italia, oltre al danno ci vuole anche la beffa giusto? Bene, sono passati più di 10 anni da quando sono iniziati i lavori, loro pensavano che costruendo un'autostrada interrata, avrebbero ricavato buona parte dei fondi vendendo la ghiaia presente ovunque nel nord del Veneto. Il bello è che ora non vuole più nessuno la ghiaia, anche le cave che la estraevano non lavorano più perchè manca la domanda. Infatti ora girano voci che la strada probabilmente non verrà mai finita. Già la odiavo prima, ora che ho saputo che ha distrutto tutto per niente non ci vedo più!

And this dear friends is onother Italian eco monster, a plague that defaces our wonderful country. I don't understand this self destruction, annihilating everything that our country offers of good. In the post you have seen several examples of eco monsters scattered all over Italy, including the one in question in the first photo. Some work never finished, others abandoned after a while, but they shouldn't be there. Where we will end up going on like this?
E questo cari amici non è che l'ennesimo eco mostro Italiano, una piaga che deturpa il nostro meraviglioso paese. Io non capisco questo distruggesi da soli, annientare tutto ciò che il nostro paese offre di buono. Nel post avete visto diversi esempi di eco mostri sparsi per tutta l'Italia, compreso quello in questione nella prima foto. Alcuni lavori mai terminati, altri abbandonati dopo poco, ma tutti che non dovrebbero stare li. Dove finiremo andando avanti così?

Purtroppo l'Italia ne è piena. è che molti, troppi, ci mangiano sopra questi mostri.
Si, quando ci sono soldi in ballo, non guardano in faccia a niente e nessuno :(.

Sono completamente d'accordo con te.. purtroppo paesaggi meravigliosi e natura incontaminata sono stati letteralmente "stuprati" da queste costruzioni. Questo succedeva quando c'era molta ignoranza ma soprattutto non curanza della natura ed aimè succede ancora oggi.
Si, ora ci sono anche istituzioni che lottano contro tutto questo, ma finchè su quei lavori girano molti soldi, sarà difficile che impediscano altri scempi.

So sad, but there is no stopping the developers once they have set their sites on something. I feel the same way, I do not enjoy the concrete jungle I like the real thing much more! Nice story
We had the same thing happen where I grew up. The land at the end of the road, where a creek ran, was taken over by expropriation, and a highway (the 440) was put there. They had built a hospital in the middle of the woods and farmer's fields, and had to extend a highway to it. Now everything is gone: the woods, the creek, the farmer's fields. It is now a major highway, a hospital and housing developments. A little farther north, they expropriated farmland to build an airport, then provided inadequate transport to it. A couple decades later, they closed the airport and decided to expand one inside the city with very little land around it to expand into. Now they're after the golf course that backs on to it. If they had stuck with the original plan, none of this nonsense would be happening now, all over again.
