Efe had only one daughter, when the daughter was of marriage age, the father sent news around to town that all the eligible young men should come compete in a test which would determine who was fit to marry his daughter. on that day, all the able bodied young men came out, some came with paper and biro, others with cutlass and swords. the rich man took them to his swimming pool and addressed them. any one of you who can swim from one end of the pool to the other side would marry my daughter, in addition, i will give him 15 million naria, a car and a house so that they can start life well, i shall be waiting to meet my son in-law at the other side. good luck. as the young men were excited at the prospect of wining, all of them started taking off their shirts, a helicopter came over the pool and dropped snakes and crocodile into the pool.
immediately, all the young men stopped and put on their shirts. disappointed, with many saying let him go and marry his daughter , all of a sudden a splash was heard in the pool one young man swamed, struggling across the pool dugging the snake and crocodile, the rest watched in wonder, what is he risking his life for. one asked, another said he is a fool! finally, he made it to the the other side of the pool.
the rich man could not believe this rubbing his eyes with both hands in a haze of wonder, name whatever you want he said, however the young man shaking uncontrollably asked, you people should show me the person that push me into the water?
MORAL LESSON
you don't know what you are capable of doing until you are pushed.
