벌써 10월이네요..
이런저런 이유로 글쓰기를 쉰지 2주가 지나버렸습니다.
(공유해드리고 싶었던 곡들이 많아서 아쉬움이 조금 남네요)
그 사이 아침저녁으로 더 쌀쌀해진 바람이
'이제 정말 가을이구나' 라는 생각이 들게 합니다.
내일이 영화 조커의 개봉일이라는 사실, 알고 계시나요?
영화 'Her' 에서 명연기를 펼쳤던 호아킨 피닉스(Joaquin Phoenix)가 조커 역을 맡아서 개인적으로 굉장히 신선한 느낌이 들고, 동시에 기대도 많이 되네요. ^^ (이미 해외에서는 호평이 자자합니다!)
오늘 올려드리는 곡은,

'Arcade Fire' 라는 밴드의 곡입니다.
향수를 물씬 풍기는 멜로디의 첫 마디를 시작으로..
눈을 감고 피아노 선율에 귀를 기울이고 있다보면,
'아니 락밴드가 어쩜 이렇게 서정적인 곡을 쓸 수가 있지?' 라는 의문이 들 수도 있습니다.

'1시간 루프로 들어도 지루하지 않을 것 같은 감성적인 멜로디의 자장가'

Arcade Fire is a Canadian indie rock band, consisting of husband and wife Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, along with Win's younger brother William Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara. The band's current touring line-up also includes former core member Sarah Neufeld, percussionist Tiwill Duprate and saxophonist Stuart Bogie.
Founded in 2000 by friends and classmates Win Butler and Josh Deu, the band came to prominence in 2004 with the release of their critically acclaimed debut album Funeral. Their second studio album, Neon Bible, won them the 2008 Meteor Music Award for Best International Album and the 2008 Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year. Their third studio album, The Suburbs, was released in 2010 to critical acclaim and commercial success. It received many accolades, including the 2011 Grammy for Album of the Year, the 2011 Juno Award for Album of the Year and the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Album. In 2013, Arcade Fire released their fourth album, Reflektor, and scored the feature film Her, for which band members Win Butler and Owen Pallett were nominated in the Best Original Score category at the 86th Academy Awards. All the band's studio albums have received nominations for Best Alternative Music Album at the Grammys. Funeral is widely considered by music critics to be one of the greatest albums of the 2000s. The band's work has also been named three times as a shortlist nominee for the Polaris Music Prize: in 2007 for Neon Bible, in 2011 for The Suburbs and in 2014 for Reflektor.
The band has been described as indie rock, art rock, dance-rock, and baroque pop. They play guitar, drums, bass guitar, piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, xylophone, glockenspiel, keyboard, synthesizer, French horn, accordion, harp, mandolin and hurdy-gurdy, and take most of these instruments on tour; the multi-instrumentalist band members switch duties throughout shows.

사실 아케이드 파이어는
일전에도 유크박스에서 소개를 해드린 적이 있는 밴드입니다.
그럼에도 불구하고 한 번 더 추천을 해드리는 이유는,
그만큼 좋은 곡을 많이 쓰는 밴드라고 생각하기 때문입니다. ^^
적어도 인디음악쪽은, 넓게 듣는다고 생각하고 있었는데,
아케이드 파이어의 음악은 '인디씬에서 너무 유명하다'는 이유로
일부러 늦게 찾아들은 것에 대한 미안함도 일부 있는 것 같네요. ^^;

HER! 인생 영화 중 하나라 포스터도 인쇄해 집에 두고 있지요.
이번에 조커 배우가 HER 배우라는 사실에 깜짝 놀라기도 했는데..(영화를 보고 난 후에 알았어요) her의 영상미나 줄거리, 연기 뿐만 아니라 오디오가 톡톡히 자신의 몫을 해낸 것 같아 가끔 OST를 찾아 듣는데, 유스미님 덕분에 오랜만에 이렇게 한 번 더 들어보네요. 락 밴드였다니! 나머지 두 노래도 감사히 듣겠습니다.

제가 영화를 보면서 느꼈던 부분을 대신 적어주신 것 같아서 신기하네요!
말씀해주신 것처럼 영상미, 연기, 줄거리, OST까지.. 정말 빠지는 게 없는듯한 영화였다는 생각이 들어요. (사만다가 AI라는 걸 깨달았을 때 테오도르가 느꼈을 그 허망함은 상상 이상이었을 것 같습니다.. :/)
저에게 Her 정도의 여운을 남겨준 로맨스 영화로

높은 확률로 두 영화를 모두 보셨을 수도 있지만,
