A Dump To A Garden pt2

in #landscaping2 years ago

Hiya guys

A couple of days ago I posted about my mate's garden and the work that I had put in, today I went back to finish the job off.

You can find the first post here https://hive.blog/landscaping/@artonmysleeve/a-dump-to-a-garden-kind-of-pt1

Today we went back to his house and cracked on with the job, first we raked the garden to get rid of all the waste that was left behind, then I ran over it with a rotavator and raked it flat.

To make my life easier I attached a piece of wood to the end of my rake and push the soil back and forward to get a level, the walked over it to compact it down.

Once I found where the dips were I then backfilled them and raked once again until I got a flat surface.

Now one thing that I had to do with this job is grass seed, and I would have liked to lay turf but it is what it is.

I then moved on to putting a nice little 33inch high picket fence up for him as well with two gates, one for him and one for his neighbor to use as it is a shared space.

There were some challenges in this as to where he wanted the posts to go I found that there as a concrete base under the soil that has probably been there since the pit days, I had to brake it up to get the posts in.

And this picture is what it looked like before.

Nice and tidy now, and what makes it better is the fence is there for safety to keep his kids in, he has just bought them a massive trampoline and he says once the grass has grown that its the first thing to be put up.

hope you like guys and I have another job coming up tomorrow you can keep your eyes open for :d

:D
