My vacation to Las Vegas
I recently visited Las Vegas during the Covid-19 crisis. My trip was both business and pleasure. I know a lot of people are concerned about the spread of the virus and may be afraid to take that summer vacation. I plan I’m moving to Vegas soon so my main purpose of the vacations was to get a feel of the area and house hunt. But never the less have fun. So in this blog I will discuss what it was like to travel and move about in the Las Vegas.

THE PLANE RIDE
Let me start by saying with everything that’s going on in the world, I had a wonderful time. I was there from June 25th to June 28th. I flew out of Atlanta via delta. The airport took precautions for the travelers safety. The had markings on the ground spreader 6ft apart and hand sanitizer throughout the airport. I wore my mask the entire time simply because there are people who do not respect the 6ft rule. On the plane when entering you are give a sanitizing wipe your clean your seat area. Even after they clean them. The plane is not packed to capacity. They leave the middle seat open between the passengers. When they come around to pass out snacks, they give you a ziplock bag with the snacks inside along with hand sanitizer. Over all the experience was great and my safety concerns were met on the plane. Arriving at McCarran Airport and departing the plane. It was very easy to navigate through the airport. I rented a car and there’s a shuttle that takes you to the rent a car center. It took me less then 10 mins to get in my reserved car and drive off. I was very pleased with the service.

THE MGM GRAND HOTEL

Arriving at the hotel was a nice experience. Because we arrived on a Thursday the hotel was not pack. The check in was smooth. There were hand washing stations throughout the casino, hand sanitizer, and mask were required. There were always someone cleaning and wiping down the machines and elevators buttons. We decided to wait until night fall to walk the strip because it’s was so hot. 107 degrees to be correct. They first day was hands down the safest I felt in The MGM Grand.

The next day The Governor Steve Sisolak announced that mask were mandatory. The mandate included exemptions for those with medical breathing issues or disabilities and businesses have the right to deny services to customers. I felt this was a great thing because, at the time Las Vegas was experiencing a spike in COVID-19 cases and the hotel was starting to fill up. There were waiting lines for the elevators. It was at that time that I started to believe that the hotels were no longer operating at 50% capacity. I stayed away from the pool and buffet because I felt like they were high traffic areas.

Conclusion

Overall the trip was nice. Me and my girlfriend made it through without contracting the virus. We both got tested when we arrived back home. The highlight of my trip was a visit to the wax museum. (I’ll leave pics below) I would recommend that everybody take a summer vacation just as long as you take the proper precautions. Safety should be your number one priority. We can not live and fear in this world. People tend to give up freedom to feel safe. So never live in fear. Enjoy this life and if you have to leave the house wear a mask for you safety and other people safety.

Thanks and have a great day.
