No one teaches a kid how to speak their native language, they learn to speak on their own. Just by listening to others, kids taught themselves how to speak.
Similarly, there are numerous other things which we learnt just by observing others. The things which caught our attention, we learnt and rejected the rest.

If we can easily learn things by observing, then why do we need schools? or why do we need books?

You can only observe things that are within your reach, physically or with the help of technology. You can't learn from the things that you haven't witnessed. Therefore, we needed a system that could bring us the information that was otherwise beyond our reach. Books did that job and schools became the system.

And then schools introduced those books which the "People at the Top" thought were necessary for the kids. Kids never got a chance to choose what they wanted.

But today, things have changed, technology is expanding our reach, with the help of technology we can have access to the places or information which we earlier couldn't. We are now not dependent on schools or books to provide us with information.

What do you think, a new way of learning in knocking at our doors?

The future of learning will be different from the one we have experienced so far, many myths related to learning and education will be broken. The next generation will find many of our orthodox methods redundant. And we must not take it upon our egos and force them to continue the old practices, change is inevitable and must be respected.
