Looks like there was another error here when someone had sent about $400k USD to the wrong address.

Instead of sending it to their wallets they have transfered the money to the smart contract address.
We have no idea why are people doing that however this is not the first time that we have seen this happen.
Previously we've seen people transferring small amounts but placing ridiculous amount as gas fees.
The miners would surely have a really happy time receiving those fees.
So here is the flaws of decentralisation. If these transactions were done by the bank, there was at least some hope in recovery as there are audits and checks and balances. But since there is literally no single entity managing decentralised Blockchain.. Its impossible to reverse transactions like these once its executed.
So the next time you are about to transfer something.. Make sure you check and check and check again to ensure you are sending to the right address or even have set the right parameters before sending your precious cryptos out.

It is a rule for carpenters and should be applied to crypto. Whenever sending money anywhere, using whatever medium, make sure of what you are doing.
This is simple common sense.
People need to take responsibility for what they are doing.

This is a flaw in Ethereum, not in decentralisation.
Not really just ethereum there are many cases even on Hive or other blockchains where sending to the wrong address will not be able to recover it.
