My hesitation to publish my “self-talk” is overcome by my intention to track my personal progress. And besides, who knows? Perhaps, there might be people out there who will also walk the same path few months or years from now in case Hive becomes popular. I am also thinking of my friends to check on my content sometime in the future once they finally decided to register an account.
Revising My Crypto Goals
After writing a tentative draft to revise my crypto goals for this year, I came up with this question: “Is my growth on Hive dependent on my early recognition of my limitation in terms of knowledge and my willingness to continually learn, adapt, and change?” Currently, I am assuming that the earlier a newcomer realizes his lack of knowledge in how digital tokens work, the faster his growth is and the better his results will be.
I think this is the fourth time that I am updating my crypto goals. When I first wrote down my goals last November, I still didn’t know that time the things that I know now. If I would wait for a “complete” knowledge prior to taking any action (just like I did in the past in another field), I think I will have difficulty starting any project.
Incomplete knowledge at the moment is part of growing in entering a new field. Usually, you will commit mistakes because you are learning by testing. I do not know if there will come a time that any man can escape such process. Given the situation, I think the best recourse a person can do is to simply start acting even in the face of incomplete information.
A newcomer in crypto space cannot avoid revising his goals as his understanding of this space expands. This is because as you stumble with more information, you will realize that you don’t know a lot of things. So, when this new data calls your attention, the appropriate response is not to stick with your previous goals, but to revise them.
In my new goals, I just want to focus on three tokens:
Token | Current Holdings | New Goal |
---|---|---|
HP | 137 | 2,225 |
LEO | 139 | 1,000 |
SPS | 810 | 2,000 |
HP or HIVE Power
I am upgrading my HP goals in order to achieve my Minnow goal by the end of the year. Grateful to the creator of useful dapps built on Hive such as Hivestats by LeoFinance; HiveNow by @penguinpablo; and HiveBuzz by @arcange, @techybear, and @captaink. These tools made me aware about my current status and at the same time, the provided numbers gave me a basis to calculate a prospective financial outcome from active engagement on the blockchain.
As for HiveStats, among numerous functions, what I like the most are its featured posts and the constant updating of curation APR. With this tool, I make it part of my daily goal to read first the top 10 posts before proceeding to other content. As for my curation APR, I first noticed this function when my APR was just 2.8%. After more than a week, I see it increased to 7.1%. The list of tokens too is helpful. Ecency has a similar list.
I find the app calculator on HiveNow very useful to compute your voting value on the basis of your HIVE Power. Moreover, the website also gives you information about your latest upvotes, latest curation rewards, latest author rewards, latest posts and total pending rewards.
In the case of HiveBuzz, this app gives users an overview of his progress on the Hive blockchain. The app will buzz you when you reach another significant accomplishment such as increase in the number of your posts, comments, upvotes, and others. Just simply click the Ranking icon and type your username, and then you will see all the numbers that affect your growth on Hive. You can also use this app if you want to check the status of users you are engaging with.
LEO
My primary focus for this year is to increase the quantity of my HP. However, I am thinking that whatever amount of HIVE that will remain from my participation with Power Up Day starting the 1st day of March will go to LEO. Among various projects of LeoFinance, what I see most promising are ProjectBlank and the introduction of PolyCUB. And besides, LeoFinance is the number one layer two Dapp on Hive focusing on crypto and finance.
Splintershards or SPS
Splinterlands is the game that introduced Hive to me. It was never part of my intention to join Hive. I see discovering Hive as like stumbling with a golden nugget, which now gives me incentive more precious than the leisure I derived from playing an online game.
As for the governance token of Splinterlands, many are puzzled as to the current decline of the price of Splintershards or SPS. As for me, I see it as a normal consequence of the reduction in the token’s stock to flow ratio. Saifedean Ammous, the author of the book, The Bitcoin Standard, mentioned that a token's stock to flow ratio has a direct correlation on its price. Currently, with the growing supply of SPS, the ratio is also going lower and such reduction is now being reflected on the token’s price. However, as I mentioned in one of my comments on one article in LeoFinance, I think the price decline is just temporary. As the game grows over time, there will be bigger demand for the token. If such growth will exceed that of the new production of the token, its price will either stabilize or will gradually increase. The important thing is that as the game implements the six utilities mentioned in the updated SPS 2022 roadmap and as the market absorbs and realizes its significance, a higher valuation will follow that will also reflect in the token's price.
In closing, though not in proper order, I just want to repeat here the six use cases of SPS identified in the latest roadmap: use of validator node software, land expansion, end of private sale and airdrop, formation of the Foundation Treasury to support the development and promotion of SPS, issuance of Riftwatchers this 2nd quarter 2022, which can be bought using SPS directly, and the inclusion of SPS in ranked battle rewards. Why do you think leo will increase in price?
The usecase of SPS will increase :)
Yes for SPS, but as for LEO, several price forecasts have been made here on Hive few weeks ago. As for me, though I like to see its price rally, but predicting its exact direction is just a game of probability. The important thing is that if the projects waiting on the pipeline are truly implemented, they will add value to the token hoping that such value will also be reflected in its price. You can check the direction of the project in their recently published Whitebook Version 1.0. It states there the nature of the connection of LeoFinance to Web 3.0 and the versatility of the token as a digital asset.
