Having to go back to the job board has really put things into perspective for me. I really hate working for other people and doing crap work for crap money. But, the bills need to be paid. This has really put me into a focus of trying to rebuild my trading accounts and shift my strategies. Part of that strategy is using the internal HIVE-HBD market to trade HIVE to HBD to build my HBD savings. To do this, I have had to start a powerdown to build my initial capital position for this.
Staying In The Ecosystem
I am not doing a full powerdown, just enough to build a decent sized trading position. So I am not even doing the full powerdown that I have going. I will stop it after the first few weeks once I have enough to work with to earn some decent income.
The goal is to trade my Hive against HBD to build up more HBD to put into the savings wallet to earn that sweet 20% APR.
HBD Savings Goals
I am doing this to add to my post rewards and build my HBD savings so that I have some money to build my farm when that time comes, which is only 6 months away from the time of posting this. So things are coming up fast. I also need money to travel across the US to get to that destination which is going to cost me about $1500.
On top of that, my kids still need some help. My son is looking to move across country and my daughter is going to be starting college soon, so I am just trying to get some funds built up for that too. So I have a lot going on that I need funds for, so building these HBD savings is going to be a big part of the strategy.
Taking All Trading On-Chain
With the Hive-HBD internal exchange, this keeps my funds in my wallet and not in any centralized exchange that can be seized by either a failing exchange or the government. So using the Hive exchange is a great way to go. I am also moving all of my other BTC trading on chain using the Apollo X exchange on BSC. It is similar to how DYDX works in that the DEX is built on a smart contract. You deposit your funds and can withdraw at any time because you are just interacting with a smart contract. This is a great way to go to keep your trades out of the hands of the tax sucking government.
So that is pretty much the plan at this point. For as long as I am still in Oregon, I am going to be working my ass off offline to pay bills, use as expenses, and buy more Bitcoin. The plan is to continue to grow as a trader during this time, doing a lot of backtesting and planning, but also doing some live trading when I have the opportunity. Once things have settled down and I get to the farm, I am also going to build a video production studio and really get down to business doing live streams and trading education videos! Just taking it one day at a time.

Hey… I am using the exact same strategy…. Slowly building up my HBD savings … I’d like to eventually get to 100,000 HBD and earning $20,000 a year…. 1 HBD at a time … also I am getting some good traffic with YouTube Shorts (1 minute movies. From my iPhone) . Just filming my @Actifit walks with Lola. You get a lot of new Subscribers with Shorts… get to 1,000 and you can monetize. It’s at .05 cents per 1,000 views but some Shorts get millions of views and it starts to add up.
