"The People Power Party is calling for tariff negotiations right now."

The People's Power, the main opposition party, criticized President Lee Jae-myung on the 21st, saying, "Is it time to watch a movie? President Lee should resolve the tariff negotiations first."

President Park should not criticize her if she enjoys her hobby outside of office hours. However, the current situation at home and abroad is not comfortable enough for the president to enjoy watching movies," People's Power spokesman Sohn BEOMGYU said in a commentary on the day.
"President Lee must be a big fan of watching movies. Starting with watching Independence Army on April 17, I watched King of Kings on April 6, and I went all the way down to Busan on Monday and watched "Time in the Theater," Sohn said. "I visited the theater as many as three times in a month."
"Even though we promised an astronomical investment of $350 billion, more than 300 of our citizens were detained in the United States," he said. "As the situation became serious due to the disappearance of diplomatic power, the president asked for emergency measures, but I leisurely watched the movie just two days later."

The government boasted that it was a successful summit and that tariff cuts were successful, but it is still a long way from reaching a final tariff deal. "Although President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are coming to the APEC summit, President Lee's plans for a summit other than the U.S.-China summit are only being pursued," he said.
"This is not the time for the president to watch a movie leisurely," spokesman Sohn said, adding, "It is time to strive to raise the national prestige of the Republic of Korea, which is becoming increasingly shabby on domestic issues and diplomatic stages."
Earlier in the day, President Lee watched the official screening of the Busan International Film Festival, "The Hours of the Theater," at the Seoul Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan, and promised support for the stagnant domestic film industry.

They release statements without even understanding what they're saying.
Though we're currently swept up in the Korean Wave, the film industry is facing its greatest crisis.
To help alleviate this situation, the president is personally attending various film-related events.
Meanwhile, tariff negotiations are still underway.
There is absolutely no reason to sign an agreement under such unfavorable conditions.
Calling for a swift conclusion to the negotiations, even in the best light, does nothing to serve the national interest.
Right now, the National Assembly should be saying that we must not finalize any agreement under the current circumstances.
It's truly pathetic how they act so one-dimensionally, without any regard for the national interest.
