Respect the teachers

Teaching is a very nobel profession that shapes the character, calliber and future of an individual.

What's your's comments about teacher & who is your's favourite teacher?

I don’t believe in the idealism of the idea of a teacher
A teacher is just a man or woman who are working for money with a very nice summer vacation “in most countries”
So unless the teacher is working for free there are a lot of jobs that worth respect more then the teacher and they are hardly even mentioned
Nurses for example
So unless the teacher is teaching for Low income while having an opportunity for better income but prefered to keep on teaching
I don’t see that teacher worth additional respect just because he/she is a teacher

In the United States, I don't think this is true.

My wife is a teacher. She's incredibly intelligent, and she decided to go to university to be a teacher. She lives to teach. She cares about each of her students with a passion I don't see in many professions.

Also in most of the United States, teachers are very underpaid considering the conditions they work in and the things they are required to do. I agree with you that they deserve extra respect. Think about what would happen if all of the qualified teachers stopped teaching. Sure we could fill the openings, but then children would be learning from people who aren't qualified to teach them.

I'll always respect teachers, and they deserve it.

@ethandsmith some teachers which is very rare cases are worthy of respect, because they believe in what they are doing.
but generally all kind of jobs have peoples who believe in what they are doing..
if what you are saying about your wife is true, i would say i respect your wife for being great teacher.. go ahead and ask your wife about how many careless colleague she have, who just want to do what they paid for and go home..
it's not a bad thing, they are doing their job, but not more then anyone else who are doing their job in any kind of work

I think it's unfortunate that the teachers you have encountered treat their jobs this way. My wife is an elementary teacher, and I really don't think many of them are in it for the paycheck. Perhaps in middle school or high school there are more teachers just teaching because they just need a job, but from what I've learned through my wife's studies and job interviews, etc, there are high standards for elementary school teachers.

They have to deal with so many bureaucracies and standards and mandated attention to certain subjects in addition to having large class sizes and being stretched thin. Plus they can't just work during school hours and be done. There's lesson planning, grading, and not to mention lack of funds to purchase things.

Call it a consequence of the United States education system, but on the elementary level, I think you'd be hard pressed to find teachers who are just in it for the paycheck.

don't get me wrong, i have encountered some good teachers, but they were very few..
in the matter of fact, when i tried to remember any of my good teachers, i remembered 3,
thus who i really felt they were happy and proud when i do good, and i felt their disappointment when i do bad..
which means that they actually care..
but many others wouldn't care, it was enough for them to log the grades, and that's it..
i will tell you one thing.. Finland's teachers are great,, check them on Youtube.. it's like education from another planet..

i won't argue with you, your wife looks a great person, i wish her the best, and i hope that her students understands that..

i know usually elementary teachers are more dedicated, but again i am speaking about teachers in general, not elementary.

let's just agree to disagree with respect my friend..

Fair enough. I think everyone's experience varies, but I like to think that there are more teachers out there who care.
