This has to be the most basic and common question that anyone asks each other in this digital age and if you say no then be prepared for the comments.

What? You don’t have WI-FI.

Are u serious?

Staying connected has become too important nowadays that we require 'WI-FI' even at home or while traveling.

When WI-FI did not exist

Now let us go back in time and look at how life was before WIFI.

  • We used to wake up to alarm bells in the morning and not WhatsApp message.
  • We tried to recall what all we had to do for the day and not check who liked or commented on our photos on facebook
  • we tried to relax and disconnect when we reached home after work.
  • We used to have Dinner with Family, not with the mobile phone.
  • We ate food and had family discussions, not Whatsapp conversations.

Life has changed, isn't it?

Current Scenario

We say that nowadays the abbreviation of 'WI-FI' can be said as 'Whatsapp Important Facebook Important'? At least that is how we have turned out to be even at our homes.

The 'STD' calls may have dropped but Stress, Tension levels and Depression has unquestionably increased. The reason is very simple. We are highly connected to the outside world.

Likewise, sleep disorders are on the rise and its because we are awake till late night to be connected and then wake up early next day as we need to go to office, college, tuitions etc. This takes a toll on our well-being.

What is getting missed?

We have advanced a lot in technology and we can connect with anyone online but we have certainly disconnected ourselves offline.

Day by day separation between our loved ones is increasing. We used to cherish the time spent speaking face to face with our relatives and family members when we reached home but sadly WIFI has changed that. Though we are at home, we continue to be disconnected from the family and connected to our mobile.

The 2 cases on the rise nowadays are

  • Divorce
  • Loneliness and depression in Elders, Adults, and Kids

Who's fault is it any case?

I guess considerable lot among us will say that life has ended up that way.

    Or

Have we made it like that?

We are the ones using technology and cell phones. We have only lost control over our usage and have got addicted to being associated remotely constantly. There is no doubt that the external forces are also responsible but the reaction is our choice.

What can we do to change?

I feel that it’s the change in the mindset that is required and the below questions can help.

  • What is important for me?
  • Can I be time bound on the mobile usage?
  • Is it essential as of now?
  • The mobile and the internet companies are doing their business and connecting the world but finally we need to understand that at the end of the day, our family with whom we stay at home are far more valuable to us.

    A Change in entire Outlook

Rather than the WIFI (Whatsapp Important Facebook Important) which is the current trend, we change this to WI-FI (Wife Important Family Important). Through the day we are all mostly out at our workplaces but at least once home, we can control the outer network and give time for our relationships.

I believe that if we figure out a way to do that then the stress and anxiety can stay far away from us as we can share things with our family members and help ourselves.

Hoping for the right WI-FI turnaround.

Ned. I can't re-steem if the authors keep sending me their posts and don't post themselves. Btw, I only help @knozaki2015 to promote these posts since he has his limit. There are plenty other guys who are featuring unknown authors. Show me your sense of fairness by downvoting them all. Thanks.

    Good information!

    (cough)
    You forgot TV.
TV has been around decades before WiFi .
Television killed the art of conversation.
    WiFi just buried it.
