Woman of Faith

in #life7 years ago

Hello steemians.
I am sharing a true life story with you today.

A young lovely lady, pecky and hardworking, served in a church which I also attends. Her love for serving God was so much that you will mimic her ways. She is active in every area of the church. She is in hospitality unit, communion unit, offering section and she will ensure she attend most service in church. She is a perseverant worshiper. She will ensure she visits every of her unit bredren if absent in service, just to keep them in great faith and encourage them for steadfastness in service. That is just her religious life.

She is happily married and has two lovely kids. The senior is age 7 while the junior is age 5. She is a civil servant. Her husband works in the federal capital but visit the family most weekends in delta.

A test of her faith came when, she felt a painful lump on her right breast. She is a religious woman whom would love to pray and have faith ministrying anointing oil, eating holy communion and drinking holy water. A year later, this lump continued to proliferate and became much painful. Finally the husband had to force her to the hospital himself. There she was diagnosed with cancer of the breast and was advised to prepare for chemo. Being a woman of faith. She still attends every service and you wouldn't know she has such ailment. However, when she left the hospital she vowed and prayed that she will not undergo chemo. She hid her health status through this years from her mom and most of her relatives believing God for healing.

The peak of her affliction came when the breast started decaying. The ooz that she produces can turn your internal environment into confusion. Irrespective of this unpleasant smell she comes to service and carry out her duties. But I tell you each time she passes you, you will feel uncomfortable. Weeks goes by and the smell increased unbearably. She had to stop attending services. people started making news of her health and it got to her relatives and to her mum. The mum came to see things for herself. She got to her place saw her skinny smelling daughter lying helplessly and she weeped bitterly accusing the husband which led to enmity between the husband and the in-laws.

The whole blame landed on the husband. They said he wanted the wife for rituals, That he is heartless, they called him all manner of names. The sick sister called her husband in her helpless condition and pleaded with him not to take those blames to heart with tears rolling down her eye. Her kids keeps praying for their mummy to be healed so they came see who will cook for them, play with them, and take them to school because that is what there mummy does when she was quite strong, but she was now helpless lying on the floor and keeping steadfast to her faith.

Her unit members visits her and prays for her for healing on daily basis. She tells them she will get well soon to join the service and the unit. Through all her affliction she was close to a particular sister she calls her best friend. She confides in her and will tell her that she sees angels in her dreams. This friend of her was with her all through her trying times. It was this friend that reports to the church that the sick sister is recuperating with faith. She never wanted to leave the world so soon, she was just 44years old. On a fateful weekend when her best friend came to pay her a visit. She whisper to her friend that "it is time" before the friend could say anything she gave up. She was faithful unto death. The rest of the story was weeping and burial ceremony.

The church felt her lost, we missed her and prayed her soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.

I would have shared her pictures but I couldn't get a hold of it at the time I made this article. Thanks for your time.
