Are ancient aliens real?

I believe so, yes.

Can I prove it? Nope

Do I need to? Nope

I can give the same answer to this question as others give to the "other" big prove it exists question.... FAITH

In regards to that, there are dozens of religious paintings depicting what appears to be UFo's in the background, most religious texts have stories that in modern times would be considered extraterrestrial contacts.

In the book of Enoch for example Enoch is taken up to the heavens and shown "the whole round of the Earth". How could he have known the earth was round at that time in history?

In the Book of Ezekiel, he is brought up to the heavens in vehicle made of spokes within spokes,

In most biblical texts, the arrival of angels or messengers of god, or perhaps even celestial beings was usually heralded by smoke, fire, a burning of the sky and earth, thunder and loud noise. Sounds very much like a mechanical machine, perhaps a rocket of some kind, doesn't it.

Most religious texts from the Bible, to the Torah, the Quran, the Indian Vedas there are hundreds of encounters with what could be considered Aliens. Of course any encounter not of this Earth is by definition extraterrestrial. So even angels and other messengers of the gods or of the heavens are extraterrestrial or alien in nature.

As each year passes we learn more and more about mankinds history, dates are constantly being revised, what we once "knew" is now KNOWN to be wrong etc. So what mainstream science or history teaches us is just not something I am willing to accept.

Now as the usual human ingenuity angle on this. Yes I definitely believe humans did the heavy lifting and physical labour for the most part, but the advanced knowledge required to accomplish some of these tasks? Simply not doable by the ancient humans as we presently know of them. There are multiple known instances for example of pythagoras' theorem being put into practice thousands of years before the time of Pythagoras himself. The Golden Ratio is another mathematical construct that seems to have been known 5,000 years before it was actually discovered and understood. In most cases, the concept was used, but not understood, almost like it was simply given to our ancestors to follow in a blueprint or instruction manual, but not to be understood.

Did humans build the pyramids, yes most certainly. Did humans plan the pyramids? Of that I am doubtful. The mathematical and scientific knowledge and accuracy required (such as the alignment of the sides to the cardinal points of the compass to within 1./10 of a degree in accuracy) is not something they had to knowledge or tools to do that accurately. If they did, why was the knowledge and techniques lost for thousands of years? My belief is because that knowledge or technology was lent to us or simply given, start here, follow this.

The heights of the pyramids, the ratios in height to width, etc. All of these are calculations that were down for these pyramids but not repeated continually through out the civilization. Why not? If mankind had the knowledge at that point, you think it would have been used constantly.

If you look at ancient stories/legends of  how a lot of these megaliths came to be, you will see a common theme. The "Gods" or visitors from the heavens/stars came down and gave man the tools and knowledge to accomplish these feats. The Moai (the giant heads) on Easter Island for example, are said to have "walked" to their resting spots. This is the story the Rapa Nui people tell to this day. Modern science puts forth theories such as using trees to roll the statues on, but well there aren't any trees on Easter Island. Deforestation took place there by the early populace and so there wasn't enough wood on the island to accomplish. Plus as I said, the people of the island themselves believe that the statues walked there under power from the "Gods". Obviously not something the people did themselves or they would probably take credit for it.

Stonehenge, same story. There are legends that Merlin used his magic to levitate the blue stones from where they were quarried and simply pushed them the 60 miles to where Stonehenge was built.

Puma Punku, Machu Pichu, Angor Wat all have the same type of stories. Some are so high in the mountains, well above tree lines that the thought of using wooden rollers to transport 100 ton slabs (2.2 MILLION pounds EACH) UP a mountainside, fighting gravity, uneven ground, twists and turns etc is simply unbelievable for human ingenuity, without assistance of some kind.

There have been many experiments done around the world, mostly by bored university professors and students where they have always used "scale" models to show that mankind could do these things. On a smaller scale it certainly is possible to see how enough men could simply muscle some of these into place. However when taken to a scale of what our ancients accomplished most of these studies fall apart. It is simply impossible to get enough hands on a 2.2 million pound stone to push it up a ramp, then sideways into place in a pyramid. There is a finite amount of space around the stone itself and you can only have a finite amount of men using physical strength to push or pull this stones into their proper place.

Some of these structures have such intricate mathematical models embedded inside them that they can only be seen from the sky. How is it possible that ancient cultures could have laid these out with such precision over many miles and still be that accurate, given the level of technology and understanding that is ascribed to them today?

It simply isn't, not without some kind of external influence of knowledge.

Another great example is the Piri Reis map. This was a map a Turkish admiral named Piri Reis compiled in 1614 from 7 or 8 other maps found in the Ottoman's Empires libraries. This was not an uncommon thing in those days as most maps were simply improvements or additions to other existing maps.

What is amazing about this map though is what it shows. It appears to show Antarctica BEFORE there was ice. Let me say that again. It is an ACCURATE mapping of a landmass that was not yet discovered in the 1500's at a time at least 10,000 years earlier, before the last ice age covered the land in ice. The first confirmed landing on Antarctica was in 1830,

On 6th July 1960 the U. S. Air Force  responded to Prof. Charles H. Hapgood of Keene College, specifically to  his request for an evaluation of the ancient Piri Reis Map:

Subject: Admiral Piri Reis Map
TO: Prof. Charles H. Hapgood
Keene College
Keene, New Hampshire

Dear Professor Hapgood,

Your request of evaluation of certain unusual features of the Piri Reis map of 1513 by this organization has been reviewed.
The claim that the lower part of the map portrays the Princess  Martha Coast of Queen Maud Land, Antarctic, and the Palmer Peninsular,  is reasonable. We find that this is the most logical and in all  probability the correct interpretation of the map.
The geographical detail shown in the lower part of the map agrees  very remarkably with the results of the seismic profile made across the  top of the ice-cap by the Swedish-British Antarctic Expedition of 1949.
This indicates the coastline had been mapped before it was covered by the ice-cap.
The ice-cap in this region is now about a mile thick.
We have no idea how the data on this map can be reconciled with the supposed state of geographical knowledge in 1513.

The Hydrographic Office couldn't believe what they saw: they were even able to correct some errors in the present days maps!!
The precision on determining the longitudinal coordinates, on the  other hand, shows that to draw the map it was necessary to use the  spheroid trigonometry, a process supposedly not know until the middle of  18th century.

Hapgood has proved that the Piri  Re'is map is plotted out in plane geometry, containing latitudes and  longitudes at right angles in a traditional "grid"; yet it is obviously  copied from an earlier map that was projected using spherical  trigonometry! Not only did the early map makers know that the Earth was  round, but they had knowledge of its true circumference to within 50  miles!

There are MANY MANY instances where there are occurences of knowledge or information that mankind simply should not have had at that point in their history. In most cases, these are one-offs, where the information was used for a singular purpose and then seems to have been forgotten or lost over time.

How did the ancients perfect cyclopean architecture?: Where the blocks fit together so tightly without mortar or bonding agent of any kind that even a human hair cannot fit between them? A process we still cannot duplicate today,

How did they perform what appears to be machine laser cut precision on the "H" blocks in puma punku. So precise that even centuries later you can still cut your fingers on them? These are incisions cut deep inside the blocks, almost impossible to get hand held tools in there. Additionally there are hundreds of these blocks at Puma Punku, all made identically in specs, dimensions, etc. No way a team of individuals could have carved these blocks and had them come out as such precise clones of each other.

And yet they exist,.

The other theory tha can account for this and place it more on human ingenuity is that in the past, more likely before the ice age, human kind was as technology or possible more so in that time, advanced then we are today. The knowledge was lost due to the ice age and subsequent great deluge that occurred when the ice melted and created the age of man we currently live in.

In this case, civilizations such as Atlantis may have truly existed. But that is a post for another time.

In my mind, ancient cultures were gifted with knowledge that was not theirs to keep. Whether that be aliens or some other manner, there is too much "evidence" or at least uncertainty to simply continue to accept what "modern" science tells us when it becomes more and more obvious with each passing year or decade that the only thing we know about our own history is that WE KNOW NOTHING and should not close our eyes to other possibilities.

The one thing I am certain of is that we know very little about where we came from, how we got to where we are today and probably even less about where we are going. We are simply children fumbling with a pack of matches. Able at times to create a brief spark of light that is extinguished far too soon and for far too long

In the book of Enoch for example Enoch is taken up to the heavens and shown "the whole round of the Earth". How could he have known the earth was round at that time in history?

"The discovery that the Earth is round is most commonly ascribed to the ancient Greek philosopher Pythagoras, while the credit for proving it is usually given to Aristotle. "

Wow that's a ton of information I didn't know existed. What a waste if you don't have a youtube channel. Thank you for your amazing inputs and I thoroughly enjoyed reading and digging in.

LOL Glad you liked it.

No, no youtube channel for me.

I do have a small blog at www.ancientknowledge.net

Its not centred around ancient alien theory but is something I plan to cover more

Easter Island is really interesting and I am glad you mentioned it. I have read that the features of the statues on Easter Island are characteristic of people that would have lived across the ocean. There is no way that the population of the island or areas around there would have known about those different facial features unless they had traveled across the ocean or vice versa. Or. They were built by someone or something else. It's all very curious.

Interesting post, though personally speaking I simply don't believe in the "ancient aliens" theories. I wrote a post explaining why a few months ago, but in a nutshell, I do think humans could have done all the things you mention. We humans often put ourselves down, and we're always looking for someone or something "out there", greater than ourselves, almost to take responsibility, to take the lead.
Also, we have a habit of trying to reconstruct the past in the image of the technologies and fashions of the current period. So a human-like figure depicted in the Nazca lines is seen as wearing a "space suit" – just like the one Neil Armstrong wore. An ancient Egyptian pictograph is interpreted as a "lightbulb" – but as the kind of lightbulb that would have been used in the 1970s and 80s, not the kind most people use today.
I do believe that much of history has been obscured, however I would like to think that in ancient times maybe humans had technologies that we don't even know about these days. I don't know why we lost that knowledge, but at some point, it was lost. That's my theory.
