5 Reasons why we Love Burgers
How can anyone not love these absolutely
delightful, juicy, mouth-filling wonders? I, for one, have never come across such a misfit. (No offence to those who would rather chew wood than eat a burger, it’s just that it’s really hard to picture someone being averse to these God-sent delights. So popular is this chompy dish, that even the smallest of eateries are sure to reserve a slot for them on the menu. Why then, do we love burgers so much? Despite the fact that they do pack in enough calories to significantly alter our waistlines, we still can’t resist the temptation of sinking our teeth into one! Here are a couple of reasons why, I think, people love burgers so much.
Because you can stuff them with an insane amount of food:
Remember those food challenges only people like Adam Richman can attempt? That’s what I’m talking about! Given the design of a burger, it is extremely easy to stuff in as much food as you like. Whether it’s extra slices of cheese, crunchy veggies, innumerable patties or countless slices of tenderloin, you can ceaselessly pile on food to your heart’s content.
They’re reasonably priced:
Unlike those paltry platters of sushi, burgers don’t burn a hole in your already-flimsy pockets. It is because of this benevolent dish that we can be sure that we won’t go hungry, no matter how bleak our finances are. So, whenever you’re famished, out of cash and desperate to pile on some calories, confidently head towards the nearest burger outlet!
They’re served with equally delicious sides!
Burgers aren’t solitary beings, they like moving around with mouth-watering friends, like fries, grilled veggies, pickles and more meat. Even the humblest of eateries will serve burgers with delectable sides. This is something that is particularly heart-warming for foodies, ravenous individuals and those with big appetites. So, if you’re feeling unloved and want to experience some generosity, order a burger. The add-ons will surely restore your faith in humanity.
Because they make us happy!
No, you’re not being delusional. Pigging out on a crunchy, mammoth-sized burger can actually make you happy. That’s why they’ve been included in that prestigious class of foodstuffs called comfort foods. Packed with carbohydrates and calories, a burger can actually up your psychological and emotional state. So, the next time you feel like you’re down in the dumps, order in a juicy, food-filled burger!
Because they’re ubiquitous:
Burgers are found everywhere, literally. Even the most obscure joints serve these up on a platter. So, no matter where you are, you can always count on the burger to silence your stomach growls and hunger pangs. It isn’t surprising then that most of us choose to stay loyal to the burger even when presented with fancier options.
