Is telling kids there is a Santa undermining their trust?

in #life6 years ago (edited)

I've been struggling with our role in society giving children a story thats false. Im not saying no Christmas, no family gatherings, not even no giftgiving even though I dislike the commercilization largely to the benefit of corporations. Im talking about essentially lying to children on mass about Santa. What does it do to build trust in the adult world when they learn from the bully at school they are being lied to? Im not passing judgement and my son gres up with a Santa; its something I ponder this time of year. Season's Greetings!
