On September 11, 2001 I was just about to get my dream job-owning a coffee shop :) I was doing some work for my folks early that morning when I heard about the first plane. I was home in time to see the second hit.
We'd planned to open the Coffee Shop on Oct. 15 but a couple of things happened. Our walk in refer took a dump and our decor featured the towers prominently. It took me a lot less time to fix the fridge than it did for us to redecorate. Total makeover before we even opened. The good news is we opened on Nov. 10. Free coffee to all Marines on the Marine Corps birthday. Did it every year.
I know most people are having a just awful year in 2020. I'm not. I'm +8 in siblings for the year and my life is good. Most people had a bad 2001, too. I'm glad you cashed in two of your dreams in the same year! That is some pretty cool stuff right there.
