RE: Formerly $3.8 Billion Market Cap Kadena Calling It Quits Right In The Middle Of A Bull Market

in #lifeyesterday

It is absolutely insane and and I just looked that the CHEX pricing and shook that it went all the way down the boom and bust cycle pattern.

With HIVE it is interesting as well. The clinching effect is in full force though. The DAO is supporting a few legacy things which are good but it has the capabilities of supporting 10 times what is being done right now.

The engagement has really dwindled and even a year ago I was scratching my head as to where everyone was. I think in the 1st world countries so many people are having to work 60+ hours / week to try to survive and they don't think playing with this stuff will make any difference in their situation.

I have taken a chance with DTUBE and I'm up in the top 5 but currently it isn't trading anywhere and the bridge to the BSC isn't active so we are just doing trades with each other manually and trying to get the situation back active but clearly everything is self funded. I'm running 2 nodes and building an alternative interface. https://avalonblocks.com/#/richlist

Even as much as I have studied tokenomics over the years and what is working and what isn't it is intimidating that so many projects with great tech are nose diving.

I have been observing the LEO situation and like a lot of what they have tried but I'm always concerned that the sub community of HIVE that are still fans of that crew end up being tapped out and it is hard to branch beyond that. They are doing a solid job though getting the LeoDex noticed.

We would think at some point some of these projects would be so oversold that people couldn't resist taking a position but my worry is it would be like the dating market where so many people have given up that the people have to hit with the most unbelievable combination of attributes that people couldn't resist engaging in the ecosystem.

BNB and SOL are capturing a ton of activity under their umbrellas but neither of those have something as well formed as HIVE or OpenChat on ICP but the prices of those have really gotten crushed.

I really can't say where they went wrong besides the fact that $ICP prices went down yanking them down and eroding away their community.

Concerning though that an app that sophisticated could perform so poorly.

The Arena is getting crushed as well but their tokenomics weren't right from the beginning and AVAX got hammered this last liquidation crash.

With DTUBE at least I'm starting from $0 so the only way to go is up but it's a lot of time and energy to try to get it where it needs to be.

Sort:

Leo burned me one too many times with all the promises and dismissive behavior. I still have a small position, but I am liquidating a lot of that. CHEX just hurts. I moved most of my EOS into it around $.03 to $.07, saw it rise to $.80 or whatever but held on because I wanted to see it top $1. Now here we are. That's my biggest flaw in crypto I think. Waiting for some magic number that never hits, then I get left holding the bag. I honestly didn't realize DTUBE was still around. I thought they went away and 3Speak was the only video platform left on HIVE.

I get what you are saying with Leo. There has been some stuff that hasn't played out and I don't know how many people are part of the team and if it is more about being overloaded.

Well DTube isn't really on HIVE. It's on it's own chain but it can multi post to HIVE, Blurt, and STEEM. https://dtube.app/

There are a lot of UI issues and when Ionomy went down and the bridge went down several leaders dropped out and it halted the chain and the remaining leaders ultimately had to fork it to get it back up and rolling. The original Dev left 2 years ago and so we have been on life support.

Where I'm seeing the value in it for myself is I have a chain that has human readable usernames that I have more control over.

From the jump with a lot of the stuff I don't feel like I can get a sizeable amount so that if I put a ton of work in it won't matter.

That is one of the big reasons I really got behind Dogecoin before last cycle. It had generally been abandoned so I felt my marketing would make a tangible impact.

Another project that seems like they have some positive things going on that I haven't fully figured out the whole ecosystems is. https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/undeads-games

Seems like gaming and some of the socials and NFTs which I think can certainly be a good combo.

Thanks for the info!
