How To Think: Linear Vs Cyclical Cognition

in #life7 years ago (edited)

The most fascinating problem in the world... Is "Who am I, myself". It is absolutely absurd to say: "We came into this world." (Hierarchical cognition) "We didn't come into it. We came out of it!" (Relational cognition) - In the words of the poet AE Housman - "I, a stranger, am afraid, in a world, I never made." This verse paints imagery that articulates the emotional end point of "linear cognition" as loneliness, which is an illusory emo-cognitive by-product of this thought form and its linearly restricted, one dimensional procession, "or nature". "Relational cognition processes" also called "cyclical" thinking methodologies offer the opposing and similarly overwhelming emotional perception of "inescapable and inexorably linked, relational and cyclical causality". That's why it's also known in the East as "thinking in circles" ;) Extreme cognitive process re-patterning, or socialisation ;) in singular pursuit of either method leaves thought dimensionally and so spatially marginalised, which is ultimately going to result in emotional dis-empowerment. That's why linear extremes lead to feelings of acute and even "cosmic" loneliness, by-products of the illusion of ultimate power precipitated by Hierarchical linear thinking, conversely in relational cognitive extremes, the powerless, mal-individuation, emo-cognitive pathologies that result from feeling seemingly adrift in a sea of infinite relational causality, leave you feeling insignificant and or powerless. There's an island paradise in the harmony point between these polarised methods of cognitive processing, the third spatial dimension of cognition and consciousness. It is the perfect place to IMO, find an answer to the question of "Who am I, Myself".... or just make a cup of tea in both linear and relative peace ^_^
