I have been a bit quiet on HIVE lately. That usually means that I have a lot going on and this time has been no exception. Life in Australia has been a bit crazy for a while now and it got a bit crazier for us when our landlord dropped a notice on us 2 weeks before Christmas – In Summary : We are selling the house you are renting.
We’d already been through this in 2020 when our last place went through 6 different Selling / Managing Agents from 3 different agencies in 15 months and it is not fun dealing with these assholes. Callous, money grubbing agents expecting to hold open house inspections every weekend in the middle of a pandemic. Sure, we are technically in a “State of Emergency” and people left and right are losing their minds....but who cares, right? We can still keep the place spotless and present the property nicely for some complete randoms to walk through our stuff each week? We get rewarded for helping the sale by being thrown out on the street at the end when the buyers want to move in? Yeh, fuck that. We aren’t doing that….
I had actually been seriously flirting with the idea of genuinely leaving the country because things have been getting so crazy here. I didn’t want to go through another Covid “wave” with all the Hysteria and Human Rights abuses that would inevitably come with it. I thought this Summer might be our best chance to get out, but I couldn’t quite sell the idea to my family and the next wave was already upon us so a compromise needed to be reached. We decided to get out of suburbia again and make sure we had enough space to live and even Home School if things kept spiraling down. The Universe was smiling on us because we found just the perfect place in no time at all.
So after a few weeks of frantically negotiating, organising and moving we have landed again in a location that I hope we can hole up in and ride out this next wave of crazy that has already begun. We have a massive front and back yard in a beautiful rural area surrounded by rolling green hills, livestock and wild animals. Here’s a nice pic of our nearest neighbors.
Anyway, we are finally at the point where we can settle in properly. We still have a lot of stuff in boxes but I’m hoping that I will soon start getting some more time for HIVE stuff. The next month is pretty crucial for us as it looks to me like there is going to be one more big (but hopefully short) wave of hysteria going through our society but with any luck by February things will start looking a bit more normal and I can get back to doing what I love – playing with Crypto. There are so many really exciting things happening in this space I regret having fallen behind a bit. But I will catch up!
Dam brother, you keep moving around like a traveling circus. Glad you found a place even if it’s still in Australia. I get not wanted to leave by your family. We will be here when you return. All the best brother.👍 Stay safe
Thanks mate. I know its a crazy life we are leading and this place might only be for a year too. But it’s comforting to know that there are some good guys overseas like yourself who can help if we ever end up as refugees trying to relocate to a new country.
If I can help in any way just let me know.
I love cows so much
Ive booked my ticket to Mexico.... thouggt you were joining me?
Really? I went really close. Couldn't convince the Mrs.
Hold on. The NT governor was on the news here as an example of a politician gone crazy.
Indeed. We are currently disgracing ourselves on the international stage. It's embarrassing.
I hope all goes well for you @buggedout, I have read that Australia has some very strict Covid restrictions/mandates. Stay safe.....
Take some time to rest and breathe. You've earned it.

Crazy everywhere now, glad you found a place to ride out this crap in some relative peace.
