Today morning, I was just scrolling down my Twitter feed and I stumbled upon something that really brought a genuine smile on my face and touched a deep corner of my heart.
This is about an incident that took place at a police station in Bangkok.
A middle aged man entered into the Police Station with a Large knife in his hands.
The officer that you see in this picture is Officer Anirut Malee who was on duty at that time.
In such a scenario you would expect the Officer to reach out for his gun but officer Anirut didn’t, instead he did something very unexpected.
He instead started talking to the attacker and just by mere words he convinced the attacker to hand over the knife to him.
After getting the possession of knife Officer Anirut went on to……
Give a Big Hug to the attacker, made him comfortable and provided him with water.
In the words of Officer Anirut Malee -
He used to be a musician but had been working as a security guard for three days and had not been paid.
On the top of this he had his Guitar stolen and it was all stressing him out.
I heard him out and sympathized and said I had a guitar to give him and suggested that we go out for a meal together.
The unnamed attacker was taken to a hospital for a mental health check-up.
And….
NO CHARGES WERE FILED AGAINST HIM.
Just goes to show once again that if you give it a shot Love, Compassion and Humanity can still prevail over Violence.

That ended well thanks the calm and sympathetic actions of the officer.
Maybe not so in another country where they shoot first, ask questions later!
