Isn't interesting how we can outsmart our own minds. Pivoting perspectives and approaches often allows us to discover some key to enter a locked door.
In one of your previous posts you mentioned in character writing, write a secret that only you and your character knows.
I did this with my current novella and I found that the secrets were a powerful defining thing. MY character's were constantly working towards reconciling these secrets albeit indirectly. I believe it helped add another layer of tension to the scenes as well as helped to make the character more three dimensional and interesting.
