I do not think you are being rude and more of you saying what everyone else with a brain is thinking. Mind boggling that anyone would even consider hiring such people for advice and guidance.

I think a lot of people lack parental guidance in their upbringing and look for that sort of stuff anywhere that they can. The thing that kind of annoys me about these two friends of mine that do it is that they are manipulative in their sales pitches and not at all genuine about how they themselves achieved happiness, if they even actually managed to do that much.
