I've been busy trying to improve my photography, and luckily I'm blessed to be working in the Atacama desert which offers the perfect place to shoot the night sky.
The lower of the two really bright dots in the middle of the picture is Alpha Centauri which is 4.5 light years away and is our closest neighbouring star. The New Horizons spacecraft was sent to photograph Neptune and Pluto - it took the spacecraft ten years to get to Pluto. Hypothetically, to reach Alpha Centauri it would take 78,000 years.
