My neighbor is moving and wanted to get rid of things. She had a whole bunch of used bricks. The family who was in the house before my neighbor moved in had landscape things that involved bricks, well she had them torn down and redid the landscape.
That is why she had all these bricks. She told me before that she wanted to get rid of the bricks and didn't know how else, but just to bring them to the dump.
Well, at Home Depot, I think just a regular brick cost about $0.60 each. So these bricks may be good to have, especially if they are free.
Where I am there is a lot of adobe type of mud so having bricks to set up like stepping stones may be helpful. Also bricks than be used for other things.
So I took the bricks. Of course it is not easy moving bricks around, but I had my 91 Chevy S10 pickup close to her backyard where the bricks were.
I would just put some in a garden container then carry them to my pickup. Well that was a good sweaty exercise. When I finished with the bricks my neighbor also wanted to know if I wanted some tools.
She had a couple of shovels. I told her I would take the shovels. Well, if you have a backyard garden, you would have to have shovels. I do have a couple of shovels, but it is always good have more as shovels do break.
I was hoping that she might have a hoe. I had two hoes and with both of them the stick part of the hoe broke. I still use the metal part but I can only use it like a short hoe. No, she didn't have any hoes, but I did want to have extra shovels just in case the ones I have would break.
She also had a wedge that she didn't want. Well if you split wood a lot you might want to have a wedge also. I have never used a wedge, but I used to never split wood also. They have Youtube videos for helping people learn how to use a wedge.
She also had these things that you put together with a 2x4 to make a saw horse. Well, I always wanted one of those too. So I took that also.
She had other kinds of garden tools that she did not want to I took those also. After I put them in the pickup I thanked my neighbor and headed out.
Well, I drove my pickup back to my place and after putting the other things and tools away, I still have to deal with these bricks. I thought where am I going to store these bricks?
Well, right beside my truck is the side of my house. Since I was so tired already I just put these bricks on the side of the house that was close to where I always park my 91 Chevy S10 pickup.
So this is where the bricks ended up, beside my pickup next to my house.
It is now a stack of bricks.
